Damiani: “Juventus, the season is still open. Thiago Motta is a great coach”

Damiani: "Juventus, la stagione è ancora aperta. Thiago Motta grande allenatore"

Interviewed by colleagues from Radio Bianconera, Oscar Damiani spoke about the moment that Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus is going through at this end of the season: “The season is still open. In the event of a triumph in the Italian Cup, the judgment would be less negative, without prejudice to the enormous gap from Inter. Juve they alternated good performances with difficult moments. However, I don’t think they are a great team, they were when they had excellent players, now they have few.

There are good players, but without champions you don’t win. With respect to Allegri, I would first like to say that he is my friend. Then I consider him a great coach, he doesn’t play, the players go on the pitch. He needs elements capable of making a difference while still being functional. I don’t know if Max stays or not. In general, the story goes that comebacks are usually difficult.

In the past Allegri has won a lot, but it hasn’t been repeated. From the outside it’s difficult to judge, he certainly isn’t what he once was, even if he remains a great coach. Thiago Motta? First of all, I like him as a man, then I consider him to be a great coach. Be careful though, I don’t know if he will leave Bologna, let’s see. For Juve it would be ideal, but it won’t be easy to snatch him from the Emilian club.”

Musah will be adapted into the right-back role. Milan’s choice against Juve

Musah verrà adattato nel ruolo di terzino destro. La scelta del Milan contro la Juve

“Milan are alarmed. Defense flops.” That’s the headline this morning Tuttosport which explains that tomorrow the Devil will take the field in Turin against Juventus with several absences in defense. The injured Kjaer and Kalulu and the suspended Theo Hernandez, Tomori and Calabria will not be there. The AC Milan rearguard will therefore have to be reinvented and in all likelihood Yunus Musah will be adapted into the role of right back.

The Rossoneri defense is not going through a great period of form: in the last four matches against Roma (first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals), Sassuolo, Roma (second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals) and Inter, Milan have conceded eight goals. A rather negative figure which is the result of both Pioli’s choices to defend in a certain way against certain opponents and individual errors.

Musiala: “Where would Mbappé fit best? He can come to Bayern Munich”

Musiala: "Dove si inserirebbe meglio Mbappé? Può venire al Bayern Monaco"

Jamal Musialaa very talented midfielder of Bayern Monacowas asked about the future of Kylian Mbappebrightest star of PSG who, however, will leave the French club at the end of the season to probably join real Madrid: “Where would he fit in best? He can come to Bayern Munich (laughs, ed.). If I had to give advice to a footballer, I would say that he should spend his time here in Munich. He would then improve all the teams, so it’s better to have him in team rather than playing against them.”

Musiala continues: “Mbappé, as well as Harry Kane, is having an incredible season, the same goes for Bellingham. There are many players who are doing great things and it’s great to see how competitive they are. You can’t really say that one player is the number one 100% now.”

Pro Vercelli, sporting director Casella: “We went beyond expectations. May? For now only polls”

Pro Vercelli, il ds Casella: "Siamo andati oltre le aspettative. Maggio? Per ora solo sondaggi"

TMW Radio

Alex Casellasports director of Pro Vercelli, spoke to the microphones of TMW Radio during the transmission To All C. Among the many topics touched on, the manager of the Piedmontese club talks about the next match against Virtus Verona, a decisive match for access to the playoffs, and about the season Matthew Maythe jewel of the attack which has scored 12 goals this season.

How did you get to the match against Virtus Verona?
“For us it’s right to start from the beginning, we saved ourselves on the last day in Lecco and it was a difficult summer after a negative season. The ownership has established a clear guideline to focus even more on young people and save us easily. Up until January things went very well, credit goes to coach Andrea Dossena and all of his staff who allowed us to finish in fourth place at the end of the first round, going beyond our wildest expectations. We didn’t win for two months between February and March, but this still allowed us to easily reach our goal. We are now fighting for a position between eighth and eleventh place which is what belongs to us. Fortunately we are in a territorial area with many players and few teams, with painstaking work in the youth sector we always manage to bring 2-3 players into the first team. We have been able to do this continuously for 4 years, that is, since I have been here, launching these young players and then selling them. The next step will be to try to retain these young people. The Marani project aims at this, perhaps increasing the bonus for the playing time so as to give more stability to continuity also for the future”.

Did you expect the season that May had? Has it already been requested?
“Matteo certainly went beyond expectations, Mustacchio also went there who is a player with much more experience. They are helped and rewarded by Dossena’s proactive play. Matteo managed to complete this growth cycle, he is a boy from the youth sector who first played in Serie D, then at Fermana with less pressure and this year he took a further step. There have been some contacts, but for now they are only meetings. Then when the ball stops we’ll see what will happen, but Matteo certainly has important numbers that few people have in Serie C at his age.”

Ratio of earnings/points won: Corvino’s Lecce comes first. Then Bologna

Rapporto monte-ingaggi/punti conquistati: primo il Lecce di Corvino. Poi il Bologna

The newspaper ‘Il Secolo XIX’ on newsstands today has drawn up a special ranking relating to the relationship between the squad’s wages and the points collected so far in the championship. This figure is obtained by dividing the total gross salary by the number of points won to date. In this special tournament of the virtuous, which rewards the clubs that have managed in the best way to negotiate the salaries of the players but also to enhance them, Lecce is first (2.39 points per million euros spent on wages). The company managed by Pantaleo Corvino is ahead of Bologna (1.98) and Hellas Verona (1.37).

The salary-points ratio – we read – is a precious indicator of the health of a company. The Apulian team is the one with the lowest salary in Serie A: 14 million and 650 thousand euros, with a cost of 418,571 euros per point.
Behind Lecce is Giovanni Sartori’s Bologna, a true revelation of the championship, one step away from qualifying for the Champions League. Hellas Verona managed by Sean Sogliano on the lowest step of the podium, then Genoa whose sporting director is Marco Ottolini.

And the big ones? All or almost all on the right side of the ranking. The best is Atalanta, sixth in the standings. Then there is Milan thirteenth, followed by Inter, Lazio, Napoli, Roma and Juventus, teams that occupy – in this order – all the positions from 15th to 19th. Salernitana brings up the rear.

Did Milan give everything? Pioli’s response: “Inter have been the strongest for 4 years and have won 2 scudetti”

Milan, Pioli: "Soffriamo per le delusioni. L

With the derby over, it’s time for Milan to return to the pitch tomorrow in the very delicate match at the Allianz Stadium against Juventus (kick-off at 6pm). The day before, the Rossoneri coach held a press conference Stefano Pioli he analyzes the moment like this: “What is the point of these last matches? We want to demonstrate who we are, that we are Milan. What is needed tomorrow? We will have to fight, give our all, as if it were the last match: be concentrated, determined. We want to defend the second place”.

What days were they?
“It’s easy, in quotes, because we can’t stop at these disappointments that we have suffered and that we have given to these fans, so we necessarily have to have the desire, the redemption, to remain compact and the desire to win matches up to the championship. We suffer from these situations, but we have a duty to get back up.”

Do you think the team gave everything? “Yes, he gave everything; but we didn’t always put our best qualities on the pitch. Inter has been the strongest team in the championship for four years and has won two championships, we have never been the strongest and we fought, giving everything mentally. We weren’t always able to raise our level of play.”

In the important period of April there is also the match against Juventus...
“It absolutely has to be like this, also unfortunately due to the recent negative results. The focus must be on finishing second. It’s been a difficult 10 days.”

What is needed tomorrow?
“We will have to fight, give our all, as if it were the last match: be focused, determined. We want to defend second place.”

Is Inter stronger?
“That we gave everything, yes, but we weren’t always able to put our qualities on the field. Inter have had the strongest team in the championship for four years and have only won two championships. We’ve never had that, we have won a championship, but we gave everything, even though we weren’t able to raise our level of play.”

What’s the point of these last games?
“We want to demonstrate who we are, that we are Milan.”

How do you rate these 5 years as positive or negative?
“There has been no middle ground in these 5 years, either positive or negative. If I could change the result of the derbies I would give everything I have, but it can no longer be done. I for one have to have broad shoulders. It was a strong pain to see the opponents celebrate”.

Who will be captain tomorrow?
“Tomorrow he will be captain Leao.”

Is there a lack of balance?
“We’re waiting for the end of the championship.”

What was Milan’s weak point?
“The most obvious thing was the exit from the Europa League, then that month in which we broke away from Inter. Inter are stronger, they have been more continuous, more solid. However, we were not the only ones who don’t keep up.”

What is Ibra giving you?
“Zlatan was here yesterday and the day before yesterday, he is always close to us, he gives us support to overcome the negative moment. We are together and together we try to overcome the difficult moment.”

Is Milan ready to manage the aftermath of the storm?
“It has to, if you want to be at a high level you have to.”

Why didn’t you come to the conference on Monday?
“I didn’t want to not give the conference, but it was the company’s choice. I have always assumed my responsibilities, otherwise I would have remained silent until the end of the season.”

Scamacca phenomenon. He was paid 25 million, now for Atalanta he is worth more than 60

Fenomeno Scamacca. E

The ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ on newsstands today analyzes the performance of Gianluca ScamaccaAtalanta’s center forward who literally changed gear from the end of March onwards and was also the absolute protagonist in the return semi-final of the Italian Cup against Fiorentina with a goal and an assist.

Paid 25 million euros plus bonuses last summer, today Scamacca is already worth more than 60 million euros. Gian Piero Gasperini, also in this case, succeeded in an authentic masterpiece by transforming a potentially very strong player into an attacker who is now continuously demonstrating his qualities. Of the 15 goals scored this season, nine came from January onwards, six of which from March 30th onwards. A non-random date, i.e. from the resumption of the championship after the national team break. He remained in Zingonia because Luciano Spalletti didn’t call him up, mainly due to previous behavior that had made the technical commissioner turn up his nose.

But for Spalletti he is the perfect center forward for the national team. And now Scamacca is also demonstrating it, giving much more importance to the team even during his statements. So after the match against Fiorentina: “I’m happy to have helped the team, it’s the others who put me in the best conditions to find the goal, playing in this Atalanta is beautiful.”

Lazio, between present and future: idea of 4-5 purchases to please Igor Tudor

Lazio, fra presente e futuro: idea 4-5 acquisti per accontentare Igor Tudor

Between present and future. Lazio wants to end this season in the best possible way. With the arrival of Igor Tudor, the team seems to have found the right balance by achieving positive results, except for the knockout in the derby against Roma, and improving their position in the standings. The Champions League zone is not very far away, six points, even if there are few games left until the end of the season, only five. A grand final will be needed to secure the Europa League zone and try to stay in the running for the international club trophy par excellence.

A look to the future to raise the bar
Behind the desks, however, we are already working on next season. The goal is to maintain a competitive team and raise the bar by doing better than this year. Most likely there will be several departures and purchases will be made on those. Some positions such as those of Luis Alberto, Guendouzi, Immobile and Kamada therefore remain in the balance.

At least 4-5 additions for the Biancocelesti
We will need starter players but also players who can reinforce the bench from a numerical point of view. As reported in today’s edition of Corriere dello Sportthe ideal would be to go and buy two defenders, a left winger, an attacking midfielder and a striker.
