Tuchel bids farewell to Bayern Munich: “There were negotiations, but the February agreement remains”

Tuchel dà l

“This is the last press conference at Säbener Straße (Bayern Munich’s training centre, ed.). The February agreement remains. There have been other discussions, but we have not reached an agreement.” As Thomas Tuchel today in a press conference he made his farewell to Bayern Munich definitively official at the end of the season.

Last February the Bavarian club had already announced its farewell at the end of the season: “FC Bayern Munich and coach Thomas Tuchel have jointly decided to end their employment relationship, originally scheduled until 30 June 2025, on 30 June 2024. This is the result of a constructive discussion between CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Thomas Tuchel.” But in recent weeks there has been speculation of an about-face. And there had been, because a negotiation for his stay had been reopened. But the decision has not changed. Tuchel himself revealed everything in the conference:

“It’s not about pride, ego or being the winner. It’s about living your work with all your passion. I believe we always leave our mark and that happened here too. Timing is always crucial. We consciously chose the Bayern Munich. It was a quick and emotional decision. The managers who convinced us are now no longer there. To go to a club like this and think that there is only sun and shallow water would be very naive a little seasick. The decision was made in February.

Last week there was only the theoretical possibility of reversing, because there was this initiative from the club. The reasons why we had to separate are minimal. That’s how it is and it’s a good thing. By February it was clear to all of us that the chapter was closed. And then there was a very, very eventful week: last week. The negotiations began on Thursday, after the match against Real Madrid, and lasted until yesterday. But the February agreement remains. There have been discussions, but we have not reached an agreement.”

Cagliari, Claudio Ranieri’s pre-match conference coming soon

Cagliari, a breve la conferenza pre gara di Claudio Ranieri

12.45 At 1pm the Cagliari coach, Claudio Ranieri, will present the match against Sassuolo to the press. The rossoblù absolutely need a victory to avoid having to play for salvation on the last day against Fiorentina. But Sassuolo is desperate, and is waiting for the rossoblùu to have a faint hope of maintaining the category.

Banchini: “Alessandria had become like Beijing Express, there was always one”

TMW Radio

During the morning appointment of To All Ctransmission of TMW Radio dedicated to the world of Serie C, intervened Mister Marco Banchinifresh from the season with Alessandria, the first topic addressed by the coach: “I have a lot of respect for a place like that of the greys, it has had an important history, but I’ll get to the point. I had been contacted by the French part of the club, which then he didn’t take over the entire share package, and for me it was a challenge, because the situation wasn’t the most rosy, however, with the boys and the staff we righted the ship within two months, but then what I called began the Beijing Express, there was always one: but the players always fought, until seven days from the end when I came to a clash with the company top management, we could have done something, but the situation finance didn’t allow us to do it. However, I hope we find people who want to dress up and plan, because I like talking about football.”

So let’s go to the field, to the upcoming playoff challenges: who do you see as a revelation?
“I start from a logical reasoning, tomorrow there will be the second leg and then another six games for those who want to go to Serie B: this is the emblem of the difficulty of playing a playoff in the final phase. Having said that, Taranto’s Capuano is not dead yet, and the coach is no longer the one he was a few years ago who made order and structure his cornerstone, he has revised his tactical principles and created an explosive environment: the Vicenza match will be able give some surprises. The rossoblù remind me a lot of Baldini’s Palermo. And the other team that I see really well is Carrarese, I don’t know Calabro but I saw a series of really important matches that characterized the second round, solidity, squad. deep and a remarkable structure. Now he also has an advantage. Let’s pay attention to these two teams.”

The second teams of Juventus and Atalanta are also in the playoffs.
“In 2019 I faced Juve NG, Pecchia was there then, but the club has followed a path in which it has demonstrated that it has understood which profiles it could enhance in Serie C and which to send abroad. Atalanta, for the first year, is game with two gears ahead, I think that the director-coach duo, between Gatti and Modesto, made the difference in rocking these guys and making them interpret the category well. I think of Vlahovic, who started quietly but then exploded , also from a capital gains perspective, he has really important talents and has understood how to enhance the course. In Catania he will be able to be competitive, he has a proactive idea of play, he entertains, he risks something but he also imposes his game on you.”

The only draw in the first legs was between Triestina and Benevento: who do you see as favourites?
“Benevento now has two results out of three, but I don’t think they will be conditioned by this. I see a team that when they wanted to accelerate put Triestina in difficulty, and I see the Samnites as favourites, also due to the squad they have: their championship Maybe it wasn’t easy, but in the difficulties they came together.”

Mantua, Cesena and Juve Stabia are the newly promoted teams: how do you rate them?
“I’ll tell you this anecdote: in 2021, when I coached Vis Pesaro, I scored 6 points with Lucchese, which I then see in the playoffs with Gubbio, where the Rossoneri exit, in the face of a dominated match: I got Pagliuca’s number to compliment him, it was clear that he would make his way. The coach deserved this miracle, a miracle for what Juve Stabia represented. I’ll go back to a concept though, when the director and coach share principles, everything is smoother in Mantua. And by the way, praise must be given to Possanzini, in my opinion he is ready for Serie A. There is also a lot of talk about Cesena di Toscano, a top-class coach who offers intense football, entrusted to three-four experts with young players which then make the difference.”

Bremer, great match at the Olimpico under United’s eyes. Calafiori to replace it

Bremer, grande gara all

The Brazilian central defender Gleison Bremer he was among the best on the pitch in the match that saw the Juventus beat theAtalanta and win the 2024/25 Italian Cup. As reported by the newspaper ‘TuttoSport’ on newsstands today, an emissary from Manchester United was also present at the Olympic stadium to observe the performance of the former Torino player. THE red devils this summer they will attack Bremer and Juventus will support his transfer with an offer of 70 million euros.

Goodbye Leafy. La Pergolettese: “Your voice will resonate for a long time. Guide us from above”

Addio Fogliazza. La Pergolettese: "La tua voce risuonerà a lungo. Guidaci dall

In the aftermath of the passing of the general director of the Pergolettese, Cesare Fogliazzathe same club wanted to publish via Instagram his memory of the historic manager:

“Twelve seasons full of sporting satisfactions, those of Cesare Fogliazza at the helm of Pergolettese. Two promotions from D to C (2012/13 – 2018/19), one playoff won (2017/18), one lost in the semi-final (2016/17 ) and above all five consecutive seasons in Lega Pro. After the brilliant seasons at the helm of Pizzighettone, with which he twice came close to promotion to Serie B, in 2012 his arrival in Crema after the failure of the then Pergocrema under the Briganti management and thanks to the interest of the then President Mario Macalli who invited him to lead the newly formed Pergolettese (original name of the Club), bringing the Serie D sports title to Crema. He immediately demonstrated his great knowledge of the world of football, setting up a team that, surprising everyone, won the championship under the expert and competitive guidance of Roberto Venturato, launched by him as coach at the helm of Pizzighettone, after the sudden death of Marino Bracchi. The C2 year coincided with the reform of the championships and saw the yellow-blue team relegated to Serie D. Five championships among the amateurs with two playoffs reached (one of which was won) until the triumphant season with the victory in the play-off in Novara with Modena and the conquest of the Serie C Lega Pro: his greatest masterpiece, with Matteo Contini on the bench, in a championship in which Reggiana and Modena were the big favourites.

Cesare, you will no longer be physically present, but your voice will resonate for a long time in the changing rooms of Voltini and Bertolotti.

Thank you Cesare, you will always be in our hearts and now you will guide us from above”

Matteo Lombardo: “This is how I transformed the Al-Ain youth team into an excellence”

Matteo Lombardo: "Così ho trasformato le giovanili dell

TMW exclusive

Matteo Lombardo is the director of the Academy and the coach of the Al-Ain Primavera team, the most glorious and successful club in the United Arab Emirates. It is, to be clear, the club that is playing in the Champions League final with Hernan Crespo at the helm, against Yokohama Marinos coached by the Australian Harry Kewell.

His is a story of passion and wandering, of obstinacy. He is 39 years old and already has a coaching career of about ten years behind him. “I started at the age of 28 with Inter, as a technical collaborator of the Under 16s the first year and then as a technical collaborator of the Under 18s. In the third year, the club gave me the opportunity to be the first coach of the Under 16 Inter national team”.

After three years he leaves
“There was the first sliding doors, I went to Salernitana with Mr. Bollini, as a field analyst, and in Salerno I learned to do everything. A piece of my heart remained there. With Colantuono I was a technical assistant, I coached the Primavera for a handful of months with Mr. Genovese, I experienced the first team with Gregucci in a role of greater responsibility. With Menichini I also found myself leading the first team in some matches incredible gym.”

And then you go to Spain. Why?
“I went to the San Fernando Club Deportivo, a Spanish Serie C club, because there was an ambitious project. I went to be the technical director of the cantera and the coach of the second team, in Serie D. There I had the task of rebuilding from scratch the youth sector of the club, bring players to the first team and enhance them for two years, the ownership was of an Emirati fund. Here’s the connection with Al-Ain…”

One of the most important clubs in that area of the world
“Here we want to develop the Emirati player and add foreign players to increase the competitive level of the teams. In June 2022 I do an interview, they invite me to an international tournament in Morocco and from that moment I begin my journey: technical director of the academy and coach of the Under 19s. The size of the project is enormous, as is that of the club.”

Have you already managed to bring any players to the first team?
Abdulkarim Trawi, midfielder born in 2005. Or Hazim Abbas, already in the senior national team. And again Daraman Komari, Mohamed Hamid or Solomon Sosu: all 2005″.

How did you manage to import yourself?
“The first year was not easy, entering a club of this size in an important role is not an easy transition: fortunately we obtained the championship-cup double, it was the first time for the Under 19s. From there I joined with more responsibility and strength, I brought about ten professionals and this year we won six titles. I brought professional coaches here from all over the world, currently our technical body is made up of people of 34 nationalities including coaches and players. We have won 6 titles and we are fighting for other titles. And then we have played some international tournaments, winning prestigious matches like the one against West Ham’s Under 19 team they are 5-6”.

And your secret dream?
“I obtained my UEFA A license in Spain, next year I will do the Asian Pro course for coaches and I hope to also do the UEFA Pro in Italy. I hope to achieve a lot of satisfaction with this club, Al-Ain is like Juventus in Italy or Real Madrid in Spain. For the rest I don’t exclude anything, now the goal is to continue training as a manager even if I will focus above all on the role of coach knowing that all these experiences can help me along the way in these ten years I’ve learned to understand that everything happens for a reason. I think it will happen again, I’ll just have to have the courage to put my all into whatever comes.”
