Schmeichel sv – Serbia only gets a shot on target in the 92nd minute with Milinkovic-Savic: it’s an evening as a non-paying spectator for the Danish number one.
Andersen 6 – Zero difficulties in the defensive phase against a Serbia that didn’t reach the front. It does what it’s supposed to do, flawlessly.
Christensen 6 – The same opinion expressed for Andersen applies.
Vestergaard 6 – A good advance on Mitrovic, in one of Serbia’s rare appearances in the opponent’s penalty area, and nothing more in ninety minutes of ordinary administration for the Leicester defender.
Well 6.5 – He shows up more than once with some interesting crosses from his own lane: even if he lacks the continuity necessary to make a difference, he still turns out to be one of the best among the Danes. From 77′ Kristiansen sv
Hjulmand 6 – In control of midfield, in the 30th minute he gets a serious warning which will see him forced to miss the round of 16 match. From 77′ Delaney sv
Hojbjerg 6 – Inconspicuous but concrete in the middle of the pitch, the 28-year-old from Tottenham always makes the correct choice when involved in the maneuver.
Maehle 6 – Good match from the former Atalanta player, from whose feet one of the best Danish actions of the first half was born with Bah’s header which ended just wide in the 16th minute.
Eriksen 6.5 – From today he is the record holder of appearances for Denmark (133, behind Kjaer), he is the total leader of the Hjulmand team. Always in the right place at the right time, he moves very well even when not in possession. From 88′ Poulsen sv
Hojlund 5 – The Manchester United class of 2003 has no impact whatsoever on the playing time granted to him by coach Hjulmand. From 59′ Dolberg 5.5 – A fairly complicated half hour, with few playable balls and no opportunity to hurt Rajkovic.
Wind 5.5 – First half below par for the Wolfsburg striker, who doesn’t take advantage of two good scoring opportunities between the 5th and 39th minutes. From 46′ Skov Olsen 5.5 – He started well, worrying Rajkovic in the 51st minute with a curling shot, but then he was no longer seen in the final meters of the pitch.
Kasper Hjulmand 6 – Not a great Denmark, but the 0-0 is enough for access to the round of 16 as second in the group… thanks to the better ranking against Slovenia, in a strange evening characterized by two goalless draws.
SERBIA
Rajkovic 6.5 – Busier than his Danish colleague, he also finishes with a clean sheet: above all, the best save is the one made in the 21st minute on an initiative by Eriksen.
Veljkovic 5.5 – He wobbles in defence, but between one mistake and another he is pardoned by Denmark’s advanced references who, despite trying, are unable to score.
Milenkovic 5.5 – Booked after just four minutes, he came close to receiving a second yellow card on at least two occasions. The Fiorentina defender appears quite nervous from the start of the match.
Pavlovic 5.5 – Not a great game from the Serbian centre-back, who did not miss out on some naivety which however had no impact (fortunately for him) on the outcome of the match.
Mijailovic 5.5 – Not a memorable debut at EURO 2024. He presses sparingly on the wing, demonstrating that he fears Maehle more than expected. From 73′ Mladenovic 6 – He has no way of making a difference in the last stretch of the match.
Ilic 5 – In trouble like all his teammates, his life in the middle of the pitch is very complicated against a more proactive Denmark team. From 67′ Vlahovic 5.5 – Deployed during the final Serbian forcing in search of the qualifying goal, the Juventus attacker never shoots on goal.
Gudelj 5 – Certainly not his best performance in midfield. He touches a handful of balls, without managing to impose his game. From 46′ Jovic 5 – A negative second half for AC Milan’s class of ’97, from whom more was certainly expected given Serbia’s delicate situation on this third and final day of the group stage.
Zivkovic 5 – Not reaching the left, suffers from Bah’s accelerations and never manages to sting. Reviewable, in some moments, even in the defensive phase.
Samardzic 5 – Who has seen? For the Udinese class of 2002, surprisingly deployed in the starting eleven by Stojkovic, it was a negative evening to say the least: there was no noteworthy action from him. From 46′ Tadic 6 – He tries until well into recovery, but no luck.
Lukic 5 – Deployed in the attacking midfield, he struggles tremendously paired with Samardzic: the two, in fact, never enter the game. From 87′ Milinkovic-Savic sv
Mitrović 5.5 – One of Serbia’s key players fails to have his say in the most important match of the season. He is contained by the Danish defense.
Dragan Stojkovic 5 – Serbia enters EURO 2024 from last in the standings, closing the group stage with just two points, the result of as many draws. The performance of the entire team was very negative, as they never seemed convinced of accomplishing the feat against a good Denmark team.
