In the Lombard capital the Azzurri maintained an unbeaten streak that came close to a century, exactly 96 years: from the 1-2 draw in January 1925 with Hungary (at Campo Milan, while in 1911 the other defeat against the Hungarians came at ‘Arena Civica) at the 1-2 in October 2021 with Spain at the ‘Meazza’. The national team’s largest victory in Milan was Italy-France 9-4 on 18 January 1920, while Austria was the most faced opponent (6 times), followed by Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary and Portugal (5).
