L’Equipe is tough on Milan’s France players: 2s for Theo and Fofana

L’Equipe is particularly harsh on the French players, after the defeat against Italy. Bradley Barcola is the only one that the transalpine newspaper saves, taking 6. For the rest the judgments are insufficient, if not seriously insufficient:

A particularly heavy hand for the two AC Milan players, Theo Hernandez and Youssuf Fofana, who received a 2 in their report card. It should be noted, however, that the yardstick in France is a little different from the Italian one, but in any case it is a serious failure.

“He doesn’t do great things with the ball and defensively he is struggling. He made big mistakes that led to a post and Dimarco’s goal. On Italy’s third goal he took too long to come out on his player” is the judgment towards Theo.

“His match, already complicated, was overshadowed by the wrong pass and intercepted by Frattesi who took advantage of it to score. Often dominated in midfield, he lost too many balls and badly exploited a good defensive opportunity” is the judgment towards Fofana.

Maignan also failed, getting a 4: “Even though he couldn’t do anything about the Italian goals, he was less confident than usual. Perhaps it’s due to faulty defensive communication. He only made one decisive save and was saved by a post.”
