Lazio, the key word is enthusiasm: the Baroni formula applied to the maximum

Lazio, la parola chiave è entusiasmo: la formula Baroni applicata al massimo

The most important word for football Marco Baroni it’s enthusiasm. Get people excited; drag the Biancoceleste people along with goals and sweat. Create enthusiasm in the group through the conviction of one’s ideas and the strength of the results. And then, the ability to involve and entertain everyone. If the Baroni formula were to exist it would be more or less like this. There are certainly tactical readings such as the management of the four attackers, another element that generates enthusiasm. The enormous work of the two midfielders who are ready to play in almost any condition, like Guendouzi who has been gritting his teeth for over a week. Baroni’s formula was also confirmed by Luca Pellegrini, who presented the match against Cagliari like this: “Very important match, enthusiasm is a great friend for us at the moment but we have to keep our feet on the ground. Balance is needed, otherwise this enthusiasm turns into lightness and presumption. Our results are the result of work, but enthusiasm certainly helps.”

Lazio, few doubts for Baroni

There are no particular doubts in Marco Baroni’s mind before this evening’s match. Starting with the defense, where Romagnoli he returns from disqualification ahead of Provedel alongside Gila. Pellegrini will take the place of the suspended Tavares, with Lazzari back on the pitch from the first minute after the match against Como. Despite the absence of Sinigaglia, Nicolò Rovella returns from the first minute, with Guendouzi at his side who flies on the wings of enthusiasm. Dia returns to the midfield after Como’s bench, on his sides Isaksen on the right and Noslin on the left, with Zaccagni returning to the squad, while the center forward is Taty Castellanos as usual.

Torino-Fiorentina 0-1, the report cards: Maripan gets caught by Kean, more is expected from Vanoli

Torino-Fiorentina 0-1, le pagelle: Maripan si fa uccellare da Kean, da Vanoli ci si aspetta di più

Final result: Torino-Fiorentina 0-1

TURIN (edited by Paolo Lora Lamia)

Milinkovic-Savic 6 – In the 0-1 play he comes out to try to counter Kean, who however beats him on the way out. Not very busy in the rest of the match.

Walukiewicz 6 – On his side, Sottil acts, to whom he only allows a couple of swerves which end with no results.

Maripan 4.5 – At the end of a quiet first half, he sleeps on Ranieri’s throw and is caught by Kean who then unlocks the match. Decisive error for the development of the race.

Coco 6 – Solid in the box over the 90 minutes, while not so positive when he should get his team going again.

Pedersen 6.5 – After a first half without infamy or praise, he grows a lot in the second, constantly pushing to the right and also hitting the post one-on-one with De Gea.

Tameze 6 – Battle in the middle of the field with determination, resulting in one of the few who survived the lackluster first half. From 64′ Ilic 5.5 – He comes on and is immediately booked, not playing a particularly brilliant last half hour of the match.

Curls 5.5 – His playmaking is not clear and precise as has often happened at the start of the season, also due to the way he is limited by Beltran. From 78′ Linetty sv.

Sosa 5 – He pushes very little on the left, having more than one difficulty when Dodò advances and being imprecise in his passes. From 64′ Lazaro 5.5 – Vanoli hopes to have something more on the left, but the former Inter player doesn’t come in at his best and doesn’t repay his coach’s trust.

Vlasic 5 – He should connect midfield and attack, but between the lines very little emerges between finishing and offensive insertions. From 78′ Karamoh sv.

Adams 6 – His performance didn’t even last 20 minutes, as he had to leave due to a muscle problem. Shortly before, however, he had tried to shoot once on goal. From 17′ Njie 5 – Not an entry in line with the last two matches for the 92 granata, who does not create too many problems for the Viola defense.

Sanabria 5.5 – The Paraguayan center forward moves a lot, but the balls that arrive in the last meters are few and not very precise. A half-overhand kick just wide and not much else from him.

Paolo Vanoli 5 – We expect something more after the bad match in Rome, but the Toro who take the field are the usual team lacking in ideas and who pay dearly – as against the Giallorossi – for a defensive error. A turning point is needed.

FLORENTINA (edited by Dimitri Conti)

De Gea 6 – He is not called to work overtime, in his afternoon there are just a couple of simple operations. It still conveys security.

Dodo 6 – Concrete performance both in the pushing phase and when Torino has the ball, in the final he shoots the ball badly into the area to double the lead.

Comuzzo 7 – Having returned after the ankle problem, he doesn’t seem to be affected at all. He starts with a great closing, continues without making any mistakes.

Ranieri 7 – The action of the winning goal starts from his left foot, from a throw tens of meters from the defense. And success also depends on his attention.

Gosens 6 – His direct opponent Pedersen appears to be in good condition and makes him struggle a couple of times. Overall, however, it remains sufficient.

Ox 6.5 – Proposed again in the middle, he takes on directorial tasks that are not entirely within his range. When the gates need to be closed, he is always there.

Richardson 6 – With those octopus legs, he catches several balls in the middle. Lacks speed in transmission, but is applied in the defensive phase.
From 64′ Adli 6 – Some shivers in the setup as soon as he entered, and Palladino opted to move him further forward after a while. Orchestrate discreetly.

Colpani 6 – He is the first Fiorentina player to kick towards the Granata goal, in general he shows himself in action but without great flashes.
From 64′ Ikone 5.5 – His and Kouame’s entrances seem to take away the brilliance and serenity of the Viola’s maneuvers, fortunately without consequences.

Beltran 6 – He acts as an added midfielder, attacking Ricci whenever he can. This drains him in attack, but Palladino is fine with that.
From 75′ Mandragora 6.5 – He doesn’t even have time to get in before he hits a free kick against the post, coming close to scoring the ex’s goal. A good takeover on his part.

Thin 6 – Confirmed as the starter for the second in a row, he has to fight less to open up spaces compared to Genoa. He makes the right use of them, but lacks finishing.
From 64′ Kouame 5.5 – Initially deployed on the left, when Kean comes out he moves to centre-forward. In neither position will it be sufficient.

Kean 7 – Fiorentina’s permanent center of gravity, Palladino is happy to have him back. He makes the most of the first good ball, he knows how to act alone.
From 85′ Biraghi sv.

Raffaele Palladino 7 – For now the ranking seems to give lightness and only positive push to his team, he aims to maximize the good moment and relies on nine elevenths from Genoa. Fiorentina manages the pace of the match as they like, making the most of the first good ball of the match. In the second half he closes ranks without leaning too much backwards: rating seven, like Fiorentina’s consecutive victories between Serie A and Conference.

Inter-Venice 1-0, the report cards: Lautaro gives three precious points, Stankovic 7.5

Inter-Venezia 1-0, le pagelle: Lautaro regala tre punti preziosi, Stankovic da 7,5

INTER-VENICE 1-0
(65′ Lautaro)

Inter’s report cards – Edited by Ivan Cardia

Summer 7 – Far from being a non-paying spectator: a super reflection on Oristanio at the end of the first half, it was also decisive on Pohjanpalo at the start of the second half. There are his gloves in this success. The uncertainties relating to the final exit are eliminated from the match report.

Pavard 6 – The exception to the rule: he finishes a match even with a yellow card and that must mean something, even without claiming it’s a miracle.

De Vrij 6 – In the final he even comes close to scoring on an inactive ball. Nice duel with Pohjanpalo, with some space granted.

Sticks 6.5 – More about governing than fighting: he made some of Inter’s most dangerous descents, behind a few too many mistakes. He comes out in pain. (From 70′ Bisseck 5 – Thank Sverko’s convict arm, but you can’t let yourself get blown up like that at the last minute.)

Dumfries 6.5 – He pushes hard at the start, as the minutes go by he drops noticeably but is still among those who calls on Stankovic to intervene. A couple of checks, however, are anti-school football.

Stretcher 6 – Often wide to the right, especially in the first half. In the second half he slipped away from the game before exiting. (From 70′ Calhanoglu 6.5 – He enters and Inter immediately runs more fluidly. A nice counter throw to certify the most precious recovery there is).

Zielinski 6 – Without infamy and without praise: the homework, like a good part of Inter. (From 84′ Frattesi sv).

Mkhitaryan 6 – The moving penalty offered to him by Dumfries in the first half fails, Dimarco’s knee offside stops the celebration for the goal disallowed in the second half in his throat. Ninety minutes of sacrifice, not always at the top: with Arsenal, at least, he will rest.

Dimarco 6.5 – The assist for Lautaro’s goal and many other runs on Inter’s strong flank. He too gives some uncertainty in the non-possession phase: the mitigating factor is overtime due to the lack of alternatives. (From 76′ Darmian sv ).

Thuram 5.5 – In the moscione panther version: the usual great beauty in the gait is accompanied by at least two devoured goals.

Lautaro 7 – To unlock a game like this, you need a gore of the Bull. The rest is quite ordinary, even a little less. But it’s a heavy goal. (From 70′ Taremi 6 – Lots of garra, but no quail).

Simone Inzaghi 6 – A ferocious team was expected, after having lunch enjoying the 3-0 of the Goddess in Naples. Instead, his Inter entered the pitch sluggishly and brought the result home only narrowly, with the final thrill. The three points, however, are precious.

Venezia report cards – Edited by Daniele Najjar

Stankovic 7.5 – The evening he dreamed of. First he saves everything on Mkitaryan, who had pardoned him by kicking too much at him. In the second half they shot him from all sides, he took them all: on Calhanoglu in particular he made a great save. Even better with his feet tonight, very careful on the way out.

Altar 5 – Overwhelmed by Thuram who takes the lead. Inter creates a lot and back there they also struggle to assert themselves and keep the Nerazzurri players coming on.
From 46′ Sverko 5.5 – Lautaro parades in front of him on the occasion of the Nerazzurri’s lead: it is never easy to defend against the type of balls that Dimarco knows how to put in. Then he made the omelette out of hand, but luckily for him Thuram was offside first. The goal would have been a dream, the VAR takes away his joy.

Svoboda 5.5 – What a struggle to keep those two: Lautaro and Thuram take turns breaking away from the blocks, aiming and kicking. 9 shots taken by Venezia in one half tell the story of a complex evening. Defending against Inter’s counterattacks in the open field isn’t easy for him either.

Idzes 6.5 – On an evening where Inter creates a lot, they have some peaks where they tower: first saving everything on Thuram, then with that forward ride that at times gave Venezia the lead, then saving again on Thuram in a slide. The only one to escape today, after a difficult week on a personal level.

Zampano 6 – He has a client who is not an easy one, but he has the same nature as Dimarco which pushes him to run without ever stopping, back and forth. He doesn’t give up an inch. Then he concedes something, because Dimarco invents high-level trajectories.
From 77′ Ellertsson sv

Crnigoj 5.5 – He has the task of snarling on Zielinski and he does it well, so much so that Inter struggle to create centrally. In the setup phase, however, Di Francesco wants something more and inserts Busio: he does not give support to Nicolussi Caviglia.
From 46′ Busio 6 – He entered well into a match in which Venezia needed to have more quality up front, so much so that with him the orange-greens created more than one danger. Then it turns off.

Nicolussi Ankle 5.5 – Courageous even when under pressure, but loses more than one ball, including a poisonous one that could have given Inter the lead. He tries on a free kick, without replicating his gem against Udinese. He remains the most lucid of the midfield and today it would not have been easy for many.
From 83′ Yeboah sv

Andersen 5.5 – Some good ideas and inclusions in a complex evening, like Crnigoj he is better at pressing than at building. It wasn’t easy when faced with one of the strongest midfield units around: he often gets swallowed up by it.
From 77′ Duncan sv

Haps 6 – Offensively he is dangerous, so much so that he provided the assist for the 1-1 draw canceled out by VAR. It’s hard to judge him from behind: Venezia is brave, but this means that he often finds himself in the open field against Dumfries or marking him on changes of play . Clearly the Dutchman has a different gap (and another size…) and often towers over him: what can he do if he is 13 centimeters shorter?

Oristanio 5.5 – Game where he has to chase, he struggles to hold onto the balls that pass his way. But then a ball comes to him and it’s a great opportunity: he kicks at Sommer, from two steps away. He grows in the second half, doing what is expected of him: aiming and clearing. He does it a little.

Pohjanpalo 6.5 – An anonymous first 45 minutes, Venezia struggled to get him to deliver good balls. Idzes sent him one, which was complicated to deflect on the fly and he almost transformed it into an assist for Oristanio. He grows a lot in the second half, doesn’t miss a ball, puts a lot of effort into defending the ball and comes close to scoring twice.

All. Eusebio Di Francesco 6.5 – It’s difficult to ask for anything more from his Venezia, here at San Siro against Inter. The risk of leaving space for Inter behind them is “calculated”, because then the orange-green counterattack blow for blow and they certainly don’t do it randomly, but with the ideas that they are transmitting to the group. The VAR chokes the scream in his throat.

Hellas Verona-Roma 3-2, the report cards: Harroui decisive, Zalewski and Ndicka mess up

Hellas Verona-Roma 3-2, le pagelle: Harroui decisivo, Zalewski e Ndicka pasticciano

Final result: Hellas Verona-Roma 3-2

HELLAS VERONA (Edited by Dennis Magrì)
Montipo 6 – Elegant or not in his interventions, he is certainly effective. He can do nothing about Roma’s two goals, otherwise he is not called upon to make extraordinary interventions.

Daniliuc 5.5 – When Zalewski accelerates in his area, he gets a few too many shivers and isn’t always able to stop him (From 87′ Faraoni sv).

Magnani 6.5 – The way he slipped between Dovbyk and Ndicka and scored the 2-1 goal was extraordinary. In the defensive phase he concedes a little, but all in all he manages with physical strength.

Coppola 6 – It’s not an easy afternoon, having to keep a tough opponent like Dovbyk under control: he shows courage and character. He isn’t flawless either, but the second-half stop on Kone is crucial.

Bradaric 6 – He doesn’t run any particular risks in the defensive phase and when he can he supports the offensive maneuver by pressing his foot on the accelerator.

Duda 6.5 – He clogs up, together with Serdar, the passing lines on Roma’s three-quarters; known as Verona’s tempos and counterattacks, he is the absolute master of the midfield. And he leaves his mark again with the assist for Magnani from the flag. All across the board.

Serdar 6.5 – With Duda he forms a pair of experience and great quality, he also frequently arrives in the attacking midfield to create numerical superiority and shuffle the cards in Roma’s defense (From 87′ Dani Silva sv).

Suslov 5.5 – Less flashy than usual, held in the grip of Angelino and Zalewski. You don’t notice much, but he often runs backwards with a spirit of sacrifice (From 77′ Livramento 6 – He enters just in time to give Harroui the ball to make it 3-2, then gets sent off. But the card is the last thing that matters in a final like this.)

Kastanos 6 – Lots of movement in the midfield, attracts opposing midfielders and opens almost unexpected gaps for teammates (From 62′ Harroui 7 – He is the man of the match, of the three points: cold and relentless in the area at the end, a goal that sends Hellas out of the tunnel).

Lazovic 6 – He too, like Suslov, struggles to get into the game. When he turns it on he gives support in the last thirty meters with a couple of flashes which however do not lead to anything good. A lot of work, however, in the containment phase.

Tengstedt 7 – A goal from a great centre-forward, one of those who know how to be in the right place at the right time. The corner kick that made it 2-1 came from his violent conclusion, which was deflected towards the back. It gives weight and quality in the last thirty meters (From 62′ Mosquera 6 – He tries to raise the team’s center of gravity a little, but in the end he gets little support. However, he deserves a passing grade for his desire to fight).

Paolo Zanetti 7 – The team defends in a single block, is compact despite the two goals conceded. And you can immediately see the desire to break the negative streak. She knows how to make episodes turn in her favor, she is more reactive than her opponent and in the end it is a deserved success for the way in which it was sought. Significant changes.

ROME (Edited by Pierpaolo Matrone)
Svilar 6 – Free from blame on the three goals. On the second he is hindered by Kastanos and cannot leave the posts.

Left-handed 5.5 – No blue pencil errors, but sometimes he’s too much on his legs and the attitude isn’t fully convincing (especially the fans who protest).

Ndicka 5 – The boundary between error and foul is blurred during the 2-0: he seems to be anticipated by Magnani, but it is probable that there is an elbow infringement, not recognized by the referee. However, there is no doubt about the 3-2: he makes a mistake, blowing himself up and not spending the foul.

Angelino 6 – He starts off strong, is immediately at the heart of the maneuver and very attentive in the defensive phase. Then he makes some mistakes, but the test remains positive.

Celik 6 – He always accompanies, he spends a lot in the run and also provides the assist for Dovbyk’s 2-2. The attitude is the right one.

Le Fee 6 – His through balls aren’t bad at all, especially in the first half. Then he dedicates himself more to interdiction, uses up a lot of energy and Juric calls him back to the bench. From the 66th minute Cristante 5.5 – He comes in when the teams are already quite long and he struggles a bit to cover large portions of the pitch.

Koné 6.5 – The most successful purchase of the summer and it gives further proof of this. Quality, quantity and lots of tactical intelligence. But it’s not enough on its own. From 81′ Paredes sv

Zalewski 5 – The technical error is there, the conceptual one is very serious: the 1-0 of Hellas Verona was propitiated by him with a huge mess. Partially redeemed by Soulé’s volley to make it 1-1. From the 67th minute El Shaarawy 5.5 – No, this time it doesn’t fit very well. And he gets caught in a key action from his side.

Soulé 6.5 – A goal in good style, from the back heel, after devouring another not from him: he misses the easy one, scores the most difficult one. Then he plays more lightly, especially compared to the latest releases. From the 66th minute Dybala 6 – Good impact, only Montipò denies him the joy of scoring. At 2-2 they almost took the lead. Even as a false 9 he does well.

Pilgrims 5 – You don’t see much, it takes a little time to get into the game. Then, when he seems more at the center of the game, he makes more than one wrong choice. In the shade.

Dovbyk 7 – Maybe he won’t be the top scorer again like last year in LaLiga, but it’s clear that he’s a center forward who sees more football than the others: enlightening passes, intelligent movements, even fine finishing. In the second half they also scored a goal, which was very regular. The best. From 74′ Baldanzi sv

Ivan Juric 5 – Roma plays the game, attacks a lot, but loses too many balls and has no balance. At the first difficulty, then, it seems to melt like snow in the sun. There are individual (first goal) and collective (third goal) inattentions. Furthermore, his changes are not very convincing. A bad evening.

Achraf Hakimi, like a cyclone. Veni, vidi, vici and then say hello towards PSG (for 65 million)

Achraf Hakimi, come un ciclone. Veni, vidi, vici e poi saluta in direzione PSG (per 65 milioni)

Like a cyclone. Unexpected, fast, shocking but also disappeared. Achraf Hakimi was like this at Inter, he arrived in the most particular summer of anyone’s life, at the end of June 2020, when Covid had not yet been averted. Paid a lot – over 40 million euros – after extraordinary seasons at Borussia Dortmund, when Real Madrid didn’t fully believe in it. During just one year, the time to win the Scudetto without particular problems, and resold for 65 million – plus bonuses – to guarantee business continuity after, for a period, the installments of its purchase had not been paid to Los Blancos due to the crisis of Suning’s liquidity.

He is probably one of the best players in the world in his position. Fast, technical, good at defending and attacking, no weak points. Hakimi’s farewell had started a dispute, further exacerbated by Lukaku’s subsequent farewell. However, the situation could not have been managed differently by Zhang who, otherwise, really risked ending up in a dead end situation.

“Inter meant consolidating me into the elite by taking my name to the highest possible level, even becoming champions of Italy. Paris was, well, magnificent. I’m in one of the best moments of my career, and in the capital I’m French and I’m continuing to consolidate the experience I had on the Nerazzurri side of Milan.” Achraf Hakimi turns 26 today.

Marelli on Magnani’s goal in Verona-Roma: “Clear foul on Ndicka, VAR had to intervene”

Marelli sul gol di Magnani in Verona-Roma: "Fallo evidente su Ndicka, il Var doveva intervenire"

The former referee Luca Marellifrom Dazn’s studies, commented on the goal scored by Magnani of Verona against Roma this afternoon, spoiled by a possible foul on which, however, VAR did not intervene

Here is his assessment: “There are two episodes to see in the same episode: contact between Kastanos and Svilar near the goal area, then the contact between Magnani’s arm and Ndicka. The first can be discussed, but Kastanos never attacks the ball, but with his arm he tries to prevent Svilar from intervening, in my opinion this is also a foul, but it is not a clear and obvious mistake. The second is, a negligent and non-voluntary contact, but Magnani’s swing is evident, it hits in the face of Ndicka, the VAR had to intervene.”
