Gudmundsson case, appeal by the Public Prosecutor’s Office after the acquittal sentence

Caso Gudmundsson, ricorso della Procura della Repubblica dopo la sentenza di assoluzione

The case relating to the alleged sexual violence by Albert Gudmundsson to a woman in Iceland. According to what was reported by Visir.is, the Icelandic Public Prosecutor’s Office has in fact decided to appeal against the sentence in the case of the Fiorentina footballer who was declared innocent on 10 October at the end of the trial which took place in Reykjavík.

The words of Gudmundsson’s lawyer.
The decision was confirmed by the attacker’s lawyer Vilhjálmur Vilhjálmsson, with the defender stating: “It is surprising that the Public Prosecutor has decided to appeal against this sentence, as the sentence is very well reasoned and the result is legally correct”. The ruling is in fact 39 pages long, much more than what usually happens in similar cases.

The reasons.
The same ruling states, among other things, that the decision to declare Gudmundsson innocent was based mainly on the testimony of both the footballer and the woman who had reported him, as well as on the testimony of other individuals. The sentence was issued, as mentioned, last October 10th, more than 3 weeks ago, but according to the law on criminal procedure the Prosecutor’s Office has four weeks to appeal and it must therefore be made official by Thursday.

Juve NG’s losing streak stops at six. Montero: “I saw a reaction”

Si ferma a sei la striscia di sconfitte della Juve NG. Montero: "Ho visto una reazione"

Yesterday’s goalless draw against Latin broke the team’s six-game losing streak Juventus Next Gen Of Paolo Montero in Serie C.

After the draw against the Lazio team, the Uruguayan coach released some statements through the official channels of the Juventus club:

“I’m happy because I saw a reaction from the players after a difficult moment – he explains directly from the press room of the Biella stadium -, demonstrating the ability to suffer, immersing themselves in a complicated reality like this group: we must continue to work on the growth of the Luckily we have a day off to recharge our batteries. There is quality in the team, but we have to learn to be more concrete: avoid being overwhelmed by stress and continue working. As they say in Italy: ‘Work pays ‘As regards my expulsion however: I intervened to divide the boys because I saw that there was chaos on the pitch, I didn’t speak to anyone – I wasn’t able to do anything, but I think I was expelled only because I I’m removed from the bench.”

Juventus Next Gen is currently in last place in the Group C standings with 7 points in 13 matchdays, with only one victory on the scoresheet.

The three days of Ajax’s rebirth: PSV and Feyenoord beaten, Farioli dreams big

I tre giorni della rinascita dell

Maurice Steijn’s return to the Sparta Rotterdam bench was reported a few hours ago. A year ago, the 50-year-old paid for the terrible start to the season at the helm ofAjax with the exemption, but the lancers would not have solved their problems, sinking into a very serious crisis and suffering heavy humiliations. Times that today seem very distant, yet only 5 months have passed.

The Amsterdam club was reborn and much of the credit goes to an Italian, the coach Francesco Farioli. In just three days, Ajax had the satisfaction of beating their two historic rivals: first the success in the Klassieker, at home to Feyenoord, then the victory against the league leaders PSV, who until then had full points and had not lost in the league for 17 games. Two matches that certified the ambitions of Klaassen and his teammates: the team has found enthusiasm again and is now only 5 points behind Bosz’s men, with a game to recover.

This marked the sixth consecutive victory for Ajax in the Eredivisie, the seventh in the last 8 matches. De Zerbi’s former assistant became the second coach in history to win his first matches against PSV and Feyenoord: the only one to do so was Marcel Keizer in 2017 (data Opt). A year ago, at this time, Ajax were last; now he dreams of a title that has been missing for two seasons and which seemed unthinkable until a few weeks ago. Over time, but in the capital there is a new leader who has managed to convey the right stimuli and make great use of the material available. The results are simply the fruit of the great work done.

Very tough on Serie A: “Under these conditions we won’t give them even 0.1%”

Abete durissimo con la Serie A: "A queste condizioni non gli cediamo nemmeno lo 0.1%"

The president of the National Amateur Team Giancarlo Abete gave his introductory speech on the day of the Assembly which is taking place in Rome and will modify the Federation Statute: “On behalf of the Amateur League, I want to extend a greeting to the family of Santo Romano, killed a few days ago. One of our members, goalkeeper of a representative of the Campania regional committee. Perhaps we are talking about one of those people represented by article 33, naturally sorry having to intervene clearly on a topic that goes far beyond the approval of a proposal, but concerns respect within some worlds. We will vote in favor of President Gravina’s proposal, but with bitterness for some of the contents of the proposal an amendment was presented in Parliament with four points of reference: autonomy, binding opinion, skipping sports justice and changing the levels of representation in the Assembly and in the Council. This proposal was followed by a very harsh letter from UEFA and FIFA and in light of this proposal, given that the proponent said he was not certain of the letter from UEFA and FIFA, there was no longer any talk of skipping sports justice, there is no longer any mention of autonomy or a binding opinion. We are only talking about the governing bodies of the Federation, therefore 50% of one of the four proposed points. We had a situation in which there was talk of a new era after this amendment, but this certifies that professionals must rightly have an influence on the governing bodies”.

On the reduction of the electoral weight of the Amateur League in the FIGC Statute, this is Abete’s thoughts: “The Federal President recalled that in England the weight of amateurs is 66%, 63% in France, over 50% in Germany and 43% in Spain. I don’t know that England or Spain don’t have achieved important results and international successes despite the minimal weight of the main leagues. The professionals in England have two representatives out of 10, only one from the Premier League. I only know that since 2017, when Maurizio Beretta left the presidency of Lega Serie A, there There were nine people who led the League, the problem that we respect cannot be placed on the Federation which is not an association of capitals. In the past there were presidents of the Serie A League who respected the other components, a respect that does not exist. it’s more. President Casini did not point out that the amendment presented at the last moment removes 10% of voters and two councillors, without communicating it at all.

And finally: “If this is the way to respect the components, we are not there. I will ask the Federal President to send this amendment to UEFA and FIFA to understand if the current rules will be respected. When we talk about common sense, pay attention to what is meant by good sense. Until there is a different scenario we are not willing to give up even 0.1% of our 34% which is the lowest share in Europe a league that is the driving force of the system and cannot have a much lower weight than those who practice football for pleasure. Decree 36 provides for employment contracts for those who practice football, they are clearly poor contracts but there are over 30 thousand contracts. The work applies to everyone , they are workers and deserve respect.”

Modena, Mandelli on the bench with Carrarese. Rivetti: “The right man to prepare for the match”

Modena, Mandelli in panchina con la Carrarese. Rivetti: "L

FIGC, today the amendment of the Statute. Casini replies: “Serie A asks for three changes”

FIGC, oggi la modifica dello Statuto. Casini replica: "La Serie A chiede tre modifiche"

TMW

The president of the Lega Serie A Lorenzo Casini replies to the president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina. This is his introductory speech on the day of the Assembly that is taking place in Rome and will modify the Federation Statute: “As you know, the Lega Serie A believes that the regulation does not give us the right weight, which is why it voted against. Serie A presented a proposal to amend the statute starting from the Federal President’s proposal, 80% of the proposal reproduces that of the Federal President, demonstrating that important work has been done. However, there are changes on three topics: the first refers to the power of agreement that would be granted to the Lega Serie Ain the federal proposal there is a different formulation from the exposition of the Federal President where he says that all the rules concerning Serie A will be linked to Serie A. The document talks about rules that concern exclusively the Serie A League, in the Federal Council an amendment that concerns all the professional leagues would be enough to influence the independence of Serie A. It would be enough to remove the term exclusively, it is a reasonable request. You have read the proposal on weightsI simply remind you that the documents presented by the Federation had always talked about a Serie A League with 20% of voters in the Assembly and 5 councilors, in today’s proposal there is 18% and 4 councilors, which is why the proposal is insufficient. And this regardless of state law.

And again: “The strong agreement is based on a status recognized for Serie A, to reach the strong agreement there was work that must be recognized with the Federation and it was thought that in the event of a lack of agreement we could go to the CONI council, thus allowing a third party to decide in the event of a lack of agreement. According to the current proposal of the Federal President, Serie A can have the right of veto on a proposal that concerns Serie A. There is another right of veto if there is none. agreement with the other parties. How to overcome this crossed veto? A proposal has been made where matters relating to Serie A can move forward with their own proposals in the event of a lack of agreement. Is it a strong proposition? Of course, otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about a strong understanding. It is sufficient to understand the requests of the Lega Serie A and accept them, at that point we would all be happy and Italian football would be improved.”
