Official
It is with the official note that we report in full below, that the Benevento “announces that it has reached a consensual agreement for the termination of the contract with the footballer Christian Pastina.
The Samnite Club thanks Christian and wishes him the best professional and personal satisfaction.”
We would like to remind you that a two-year ban was requested for the aforementioned player on 29 July following accusations relating to a betting case. The facts date back to 30 November 2023, when around 7.20 am the Financial Police searched the defender’s house, seizing his digital devices on the accusation of having bet on legal and illegal platforms (including through frontmen): the provision was triggered by the violation of article 4 of law 401 of 1989 (which prevents athletes from betting on the discipline they practice), but Pastina immediately declared himself a stranger, claiming that the gaming account referable to him was available to the former teammate Gaetano Letizia, involved in the investigation with Enrico Brignola and Francesco Forte, as well as with two other people not attributable to football.
Regarding the same investigation, the TFN also disqualified Francesco Forte for nine months (with a fine of 6 thousand euros), while Gaetano Letizia and Enrico Brignola were acquitted.
