Impallomeni: “Inter old-style, Arsenal disappointing. Atalanta, Gasp is hiding”

TMW Radio

Stefano Impallomeniformer footballer and journalist, spoke about the issues of the day at TMW Radioduring Maracana.

A comment on Inter’s performance?
“We liked it a lot, application and intensity against an Arsenal who tried but managed well. This match and the one against Napoli can turn the season around. There is a different attitude in the Champions League, in the league it has ups and downs, especially linked to the goals conceded. Inter are there and very ready to overtake.”

Two-faced Inter: but is it more of a championship team or a Champions League team?
“It could be more like the Champions League, it depends on the intensity of the aggressiveness. Even in the championship against Venezia he left opportunities. It’s true that yesterday too, disappointing Arsenal had some opportunities, but I liked the desire to reach the goal result in an old-style way.

In the Champions League, two Italians in particular convinced with their performance and results: Milan and Atalanta. Looking at the championship, who do you think is the most Scudetto-winning of the two?
“Atalanta, because they have many players who solve matches and a midfield that flirts with the attack, makes assists, scores, has fun. And then they are more balanced and solid. Milan are an excellent team, they could also recover Juventus, because it has something more than the Bianconeri.”

Atalanta, important victory in the Champions League:
“Intelligent, aware match. Play differently, the problem is continuity in the ‘marathon’ and the injury factor. For the rest I see them fighting for the Scudetto. Gasperini is hiding, but he’s right about awareness after the victory in EL”.

Could Juventus with Yildiz, Conceicao, Vlahovic and Koopmeiners be a definitive solution from which to start again?
“We’ll see Nico Gonzalez when he recovers, but I think it’s these four with the Argentine. If you work on them a bit, you can build something with them. Motta must provide continuity now, who has accustomed us to a whirlwind of rotations, sometimes exaggerated, especially at the back where you have to change as little as possible. Danilo is destabilizing at the back, I understood why he didn’t let him play before.”
