Meeting between the mayor of San Donato and the president of Milan Paolo Scaroni. The meeting took place this morning and had as its subject a new discussion on the possibility of building the new stadium. This is the statement from the Municipality: “This morning in the Town Hall a meeting was held between the Mayor of San Donato Francesco Squeri and Paolo Scaroni, President of AC Milan who accepted the invitation addressed to him in recent days by our mayor, to discuss the intentions of the football club regarding the stadium project in the San Francesco area. The meeting was an opportunity to take stock of the situation regarding the Program Agreement process which continues according to the estimated timescales and for which it is currently underway. the procedure relating to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
President Scaroni confirmed his satisfaction with the meeting, reiterating to the Administration the commitment to continue the procedural process relating to a priority project for the Club.
«I thank President Scaroni – declared Mayor Squeri – for having accepted the invitation to discuss Milan’s intentions in person. I leave this meeting having received further confirmation of the seriousness and concreteness of the project that the company is carrying out for the San Francesco area. On the one hand we are aware that a hypothesis regarding Milan still remains open, but on the other hand, as I reiterated to Scaroni, the green light from our Administration remains tied to the success of the Program Agreement, which must guarantee a series of responses and protections for our citizens and our territory so that the stadium in San Donato can truly represent an opportunity””.
