The Minister for Sport Abodi: “Amendment to the FIGC statute is a transit stage”

(ANSA) – ROME, 06 NOV – “I cannot consider Monday’s initiative a definitive response to the need for reform of the system. I hope that it is considered a transition stage and that we proceed with all the other initiatives, finding a synthesis ‘inside the federal house because the system needs competitiveness, sustainability and credibility.” This was said by the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, commenting on the amendment to the FIGC statute approved on Monday, speaking on the sidelines of the event “Disability is not a limit”.

“Monday’s appointment was requested through a law and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong, without it it probably would never have happened. It is proof that autonomy requires a stimulus, a direction”, he added.

On how to improve the system Abodi then concluded: “We will do our part, there will be a new rule on audiovisual rights, on system mutuality and will contain elements on infrastructures with stadiums which will be considered strategic national infrastructures. We are also studying another package of initiatives with Parliament starting from VII Commission in the Senate which has developed a hypothetical proposal that we will try to harmonize. The minister must not do one centimeter more or one less. I hope there is a step forward and we go beyond the percentages of representation which are important but not decisive”. (HANDLE).
