The days pass and the renewals of Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold do not arrive. The Liverpool has not yet resolved this burdensome situation for a club that could lose three of its most important starters in one fell swoop at the end of the season. The topic cannot be ignored, despite Reds manager Arne Slot guaranteeing that “there are ongoing discussions”, advising all interested parties to be patient and see.
However, a former Liverpool player was questioned on the subject, Jamie Carraghernow a TV commentator who speaks at the microphones of Football Daily’s Premier League gave his point of view on the contractual situation of the three players. Starting with the veterans: “I’m pretty sure that the two biggest ones (Virgil Van Dijk and Mohammed Salah, ed.) will sign. I’m at a stage where it’s difficult to move to a better club than Liverpool. When I was playing, the only two teams in where the players would have liked to move were the Spanish giants, but now I really don’t see this possibility for Virgil and Mo, who will be eager to set as many records as possible.”
Different story, however, for Alexander-Arnold repeatedly approached by Barcelona and Real Madrid for a fierce transfer market Clasico: “Trent is in a different situation, so that’s what most people will be worried about – said Carragher -, given the interest of Real Madrid and the fact that Dani Carvajal suffered a cruciate ligament injury.”
