From Türkiye: friction between Chiesa and Slot at Liverpool, Galatasaray senses the coup in January

While Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş compete for the title in the Trendyol Süper Lig, attention is already turning to the winter transfer market. The clubs are starting to move to strengthen themselves in the title race, but according to what has been ascertained in Türkiye, one above all is thinking of choosing from the Premier League. And a former face of Serie A.

The indiscretion
In fact, according to information reported by Fanatikthe Istanbul club where Icardi and Mertens play is reportedly thinking of signing him Federico Chiesa: a sensational indiscretion given that the Italian right winger moved to Liverpool in the summer for 12 million euros in search of a relaunch after Juventus. At the moment, however, the 27-year-old has only played three games, finding only 78 minutes on the pitch due to physical problems and late summer preparation.

Assist from…Slot
At the moment Chiesa is locked in by a contract with Liverpool until 2028, but also closed off by Liverpool’s competition he could contemplate a temporary adventure elsewhere. According to the Turkish portal, however, there is a significant aspect that affects his adventure in England and it is the relationship with Arne Slot: it seems in fact that the former Juventus player does not agree with the new coach of the Reds. This is also why he is already planning to leave the English club. Galatasaray are attentive to the matter and would like to sign him on loan with an option to purchase in January and for this reason they will present an offer once the winter transfer window opens.

Slot’s last words
Regarding the possibility of a winter loan for Chiesa, the Liverpool manager Arne Slot he responded like this: “I never thought about it. I think the first thing to do is get back in shape, then we’ll see where he is. There were reports in Italy – said the Dutch coach -, what I meant to say is that he missed the pre-season, and in the pre-season he did low-intensity sessions because he had to train with three or four players in addition to the group. Going from there to a high-intensity championship, to a high-intensity style of play, is difficult in general for every player , but especially if you’ve had a pre-season like this.”
