Not an easy moment for Verona. Paolo Zanetti’s team yesterday lost a direct clash for the final goal at the Via del Mare in Lecce. The Scala team, who only two months ago crushed Antonio Conte’s Napoli at the “Bentegodi”, seem to have slowed down their progress. After collecting six points in the first three matches, Hellas obtained only three in the next nine without ever having achieved draws and conceding too many goals.
Defense too fragile
The numbers leave little room for interpretation and if it is true that in the three matches in which they took home the entire stake they conceded a total of one goal, in the other matches the defense was not as impeccable, becoming the most perforated of the tournament. They conceded three goals against Juventus, two against Lazio, three more against Turin, Como and Monza, even six against Atalanta and one against Gotti’s Salento team.
Upward calendar
And the calendar now doesn’t help the yellow-blues given that the next three matches are very complex. We start next Sunday at 6pm against Roma within friendly walls while before the break there will be the match against Raffaele Palladino’s Viola. After the break for the national teams, Simone Inzaghi’s Inter will again be at the “Bentegodi”.
