Bologna wins again 40 days later: Orsolini-Odgaard, Cagliari conquered

Forty days after the last time Bologna wins again. In Cagliari Vincenzo Italiano’s team, thanks to a goal in each half with the signatures of Orsolini and Odgaard, found a success that had been missing for four games in the league, the second ever in this championship. For the rossoblù, however, the second consecutive knockout arrives.

Cagliari starts off strong
The match starts off strong straight away, with a good rhythm in the middle of the pitch and Cagliari allowing themselves to be preferred at the start against Bologna rather than a rather timid approach. Immediate double chance for the home team, with Skorupski overcoming Piccoli’s cross-shot deflected by a teammate. Gaetano also gives Italiano’s defense shivers. Nicola’s team is pushed by his people, but is unable to pass.

Bologna grows and passes
As the minutes passed, however, Bologna grew and began to take measures in the middle of the pitch. The best opportunities fall on Orsolini’s foot: a shot blocked by Orsolini, but above all the ball worked by Ndoye which the number 7, from inside the penalty area, shoots incredibly high. Shortly after, however, he makes amends: Ndoye again finishing, Castro’s veil and Orsolini performs a double step and right foot at the near post which catches Scuffet unprepared. And the first half ends at 0-1.

Odgaard for the ice, Cagliari doesn’t warm up
Five minutes of second half and Bologna take a 2-0 lead. Lucumì goes up the left and puts a ball on the edge of the area, a first-time left-footed shot from Odgaard and the ball behind a Scuffet who started late on the shot. And from there, for the Italian kids it’s more administration than anything else. Nicola tries everything, makes all five substitutions but apart from a shot from Gaetano and some improvements in intensity there is nothing else. Cagliari doesn’t get hot, Bologna manages and holds the result until the end. At the final whistle the rossoblù celebrate their return to success 40 days after the last time.
