Small ones always on the pitch? Nicola: “He’s young and it’s right to squeeze him. Choices forced by injuries”

On the eve of the match against Bologna, valid for the tenth matchday of Serie A, the Cagliari coach, Davide Nicolaalso spoke about Roberto Piccoli, answering a question about why he is one of the most used in his squad: “He’s young, and it’s right to ‘squeeze him’. Unfortunately there were also injuries that forced me to make this choice.”

Can Obert, Palomino and Wieteska start?
“We’ll see. The choices also derive from the work done in training and on the pitch. Anyone can put me in difficulty. Look at the cases of Viola, Mina, Gaetano and Adopo. Gaetano himself doesn’t have a great playing time, but tomorrow too he will be taken big consideration”.

Could Prati replace Makoumbou?
“Absolutely yes. He could start, just as others could take over. Prati has completed his recovery, he needs match rhythm.”

Which Udine mistakes did you focus on?
“When these happen it often means that there are problems. In Udine we didn’t manage certain situations well. It’s clear that we analyze mistakes in an attempt not to repeat them. Everyone makes mistakes, and I don’t want to focus on the individual. In Udine they were good, above all”.
