Among the stories that will make the match between Inter and Juventus unique this year is that of the two goalkeepers, Yann Sommer And Michele Di Gregorio. Both, as reported by The newspaperafter years of training they could find themselves playing this challenge with the opposite shirt. Sommer, a 33-year-old Swiss, only recently reached the international stage, moving from Bayern Munich to Inter. Di Gregorio, however, began his journey with the Primavera Scudetto as Inter captain, and then started again in 2017 with Renate in Serie C. After experiences with Avellino, Novara and Pordenone, he moved to Monza, finally attracting the attention of Juventus.
Di Gregorio’s transfer to Juve was facilitated by the ability of Adriano Galliani, who had purchased him for 4 million after Monza’s promotion to Serie A and then sold him to the Bianconeri for 20 million. Sommer, however, arrived at Inter for a much lower sum: just 6.5 million, thanks to the intuition of Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio.
