Marseille-PSG, title clash. Asensio: “We need to distance ourselves from external noise”

The countdown to PSG-Marseille is becoming increasingly thinner, but the prying eyes of Ligue 1 rivals will be focused on Le Classic. De Zerbi’s men are playing for first place in the standings, PSG for credibility and not only at the Velodrome. Interviewed by PSG TV, Marcos Asensio instead he recalled his first direct clash with OM (won 2-0, ed.) once he arrived from Real Madrid.

The story. “Very positive feelings! We knew it would be a difficult match. I think our team was very good and focused. We played a great match and deserved to win. When we returned to Paris, the reception from the fans was incredible and I have fond memories of it. It was incredible, to be honest. It was the first time I had an experience like that. It was a beautiful moment of communion between the fans and the players, and I hope we can repeat the experience ‘year”.

At 28 years old, Asensio is one of the most mature players on the team and he will have to illuminate the main path for those who are younger and less prepared than him: “They are also emotional, passionate matches, in which you have to try to distance yourself a little from the outside noise. At the end of the day, you have to tell yourself that it’s just another match, even if it’s a classic and a very important, and try to stay calm and do what you always do on the pitch. We have to grow as the match goes on, gain confidence and do what we know how to do. From there, I’m sure things will go very well.”
