Di Gregorio: “I don’t hold a grudge against Inter. Juve is my place, I understood it immediately”

During the long and interesting interview given to the newspaper ‘La Repubblica’, Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio spoke about his move from Monza to Juventus last summer: “I immediately found myself at ease, so much so that when I returned from the retreat I told the family: this is my place. Ironically, it took me less to settle in here than elsewhere. When I accompany my son Riccardo to nursery school and I pass by the Stadium, I can’t help but think that I’m happy.”

Then on his farewell to Inter he added: “I don’t hold a grudge. Inter did something for me that I will never be able to forget, being there for me when, at 13, I lost my father. Was there ever a chance to return to the Nerazzurri? I never really expected it. But if it had happened I would have wanted to do it from the front door.

And about the team he supports, Di Gregorio expressed himself like this: “In the family they were AC Milan fans, while I have always admired the players more than the teams: Kakà and Abbiati, Zanetti and Julio Cesar, Buffon and Del Piero, whose non-reaction when he received that slap from Cufrè in Rome has immense value for me I admired Handanovic, it was a dream to train with him, to have his advice. I have never understood why you should hate someone just because he is from another team.”
