Will Bologna-Milan be played or not? Today the decision. There is also the Sinigaglia di Como hypothesis

A decision regarding Bologna-Milan will arrive today, a match which since yesterday has been the subject of a real clash between the leaders of Italian football and Bolognese city politics. Due to the bad weather that has been raging in Emilia for days and which has brought several areas of the city to their knees, including the one where the Dall’Ara Stadium is located, the Mayor of Bologna Matteo Lepore with an ordinance issued in the late afternoon has made it known that the match will not be played because it would bring around 35,000 people to the Dall’Ara stadium, and therefore near the most critical area of the city, with consequent public order problems.

A decision that immediately found the Lega Serie A in disagreement, working since last night to find alternative solutions because – given the difficulties in finding an alternative date – it has no intention of postponing the event. A meeting between the mayor Matteo Lepore and the Prefect Attilio Visconti is scheduled for this morning to analyze the situation: it will be the last chance to ensure that the games in Bologna are played behind closed doors. If an agreement is not reached, then the League will organize the match on a neutral pitch with Sinigaglia from Como who is currently the first choice.

Milan expects to play, in Emilia or Como. While Bologna will adapt to the League’s decision to avoid a 0-3 draw, also because the Dall’Ara is accessible and at the request of the club the Mayor can allow the match to take place even behind closed doors. Without an audience, Bologna will miss the proceeds from the match (the rossoblù club, among other things, had decided to donate 50% of the proceeds to flood victims).
