Slot spoke about Chiesa and that he is not ready and that the Italians go at a slower speed:
“He’s right, but I believe that Slot has never managed to beat Roma. There is exaggeration now about the Italians. He coaches a super team, eradicated by Klopp…Chiesa, was it a mistake to go to the Premier League? There is player pride , who thinks he is stronger than he perhaps is. He is not the Chiesa he once was, he lacks intensity, Slot says certain things because there is a reason. I said he could work a lot in Rome, Florence or Bergamo to relaunch himself. We needed to take a step back to take two steps forward. In the meantime, he defended the job, then perhaps he could return to Italy.
How did you see Inter?
“I see Inter as tired but they are there. They won with their head and suffering. It’s not the same as last year but it’s there. They won like a professional in a match that now seemed impossible to win. It was a difficult match. In the defects, Inter have the players compared to Juventus. Inter are not doing very well, they don’t have players who are still at the top, they don’t have the brilliance and intensity to play the football they have accustomed us to.”
How did you see Atalanta?
“This moment is physiological. The other teams are now ready and studying. I think Celtic have studied it well, then we are in the Champions League and we are only at the beginning. The values will emerge in the long run.”
Derby d’Italia, who comes best to the challenge?
“Balanced match but Inter will take it home. In a match at the top the individual duel counts and Bremer’s absence will weigh behind.”
What move do you expect from Motta?
“Maybe Yildiz as an attacking midfielder, more central, to bring him closer to Vlahovic. He will play a more collected game, Inter will not go for it high because he is not in form, but I see a balanced game. In Inter there is more malice and experience, more players who know each other by heart. If Juventus were to win, it would be sensational, because they don’t have the same strength as the Nerazzurri at the moment.”
