Sorrento, Parmegiani: “Young players let themselves be played for their merits, not to show them off”

TMW Radio

We want to focus as much as possible on young prospects. The choices made this summer were made both for the characteristics of the boys and because we saw a perspective in them and they can grow with and in Sorrento”. The scouting manager of the Campania club Roberto Parmegiani he speaks like this during the broadcast To All C aired on TMW Radiofocusing on the importance of focusing on emerging youngsters, perhaps also fishing in the lower divisions, and on the debut of sixteen-year-old Esposito.

Last weekend, then, was Mattia Esposito’s debut in 2008?
“He arrived in Sorrento when we were in D and he was in the Giovanissimi. Last year he played with the U16s. Then in the summer he was added to the First Team and the coach let him play. He does it because he deserves it, not for any other reasons. He is a right-footed attacking winger and plays on the left. He is very good at dribbling.”

Are you seeing a change on the youth issue?
“I feel it a little and I sincerely hope for it a little. The teams, it must be remembered, that make them play for merit and not to show them off to sell them. The thing we all hope is that these young people have a great career and that they can also help the national team.”

How important is it to follow the D market? Can you tell us about Musso?
“For me it is essential to always see the D market, especially since the C2 no longer exists. We met Musso specifically first as a boy and then as a footballer. As a footballer he convinces us and once we met him as a boy we could only confirm him. We are sure that it can help us a lot from an implementation point of view.”
