TMW

Matteo Cocchi, Inter Primavera winger scored in his team’s 3-2 victory against Young Boys in the Youth League and spoke from the pitch at the end of the match. Below are his statements collected by TMW: “I don’t want to give a rating to myself but I give it to the team. It was a great match, I would say that the rating is very excellent: 8.5/9. Obviously there is always something to improve but it was a great test, a test of strength. In difficulty we came out great.”

What is it like to play on synthetic?
“By now we are used to playing on the synthetic pitch, we also have it in Milan but it was a difficult pitch, a little hard but we have no excuses. We managed to play great.”

Did you always have the feeling of being able to take home this match despite the numerical inferiority?
“We didn’t think much about it, we thought about doing the best we could. I had the feeling of being able to bring it home because I saw my teammates giving everything for each other, so I thought I could bring it home” .

What are you learning from this experience with some of Europe’s top clubs at youth level?
“You must never give up because any team can put you in difficulty and you must always keep your head on the game.”

Did you notice Baccin’s compliments from the stands?
“I’m very focused, I don’t listen outside but I’m happy.”

At Inter they think that Dimarco is still very young but that there is one almost ready…
“I think about working, then what comes comes. I think about the pitch, if it comes I’ll take advantage of the opportunity.”

Is the fact that Berenbruch has already been in the first team, tonight also Aidoo, a further incentive for you?
“We like to do better to aim to get to the first team. One day it will come for everyone. We always give our best.”
