You got the fans back at the last minute, are there any other returns?
“We must give credit to the very brave people who appealed. We hope to have our fans following us, as in Bologna. We have lost someone from the national teams, Osorio will not be there. For the rest, the others are able.”
It is said that they are teams that want to play, but with different ideas:
“This is why you can play football in so many ways. Everyone develops what they believe in most. We are two teams that want to play, there is something different. It will be a good match, between teams that want to put their qualities on the field It was like that in Bologna too, everyone played with their own weapons.”
Are there still training doubts?
“There’s always doubt, it’s normal for those who do this job. The choices are dictated by the individual moments of many guys who have been around Europe. I have to take this into account, they come from close matches. Apart from Osorio, the others have also been around, considerations that must be made.”
How did you experience these two weeks?
“There was a break, another in November and then no more for a while. We must always hope that the boys in the national teams get back into condition. In Collecchio we worked well, but there is always an eye on the 7 -8 guys out, they are a high percentage of the squad. What happened here makes me confident, I saw the right application.”
Has the balance been positive so far?
“Seeing the team play in this way is beyond expectations. We didn’t lose our character, in every match against teams with structure and experience we always played. It’s a very positive thing, we continued to do what we know. It’s clear that there is regret for not having won matches in which we deserved. The results slipped from our grasp, the pitch says we could have achieved more.”
There have been denied rumors about your future, did it bother you? Have you spoken to the company?
“What bothered me were the falsehoods. Rumors accompany every coach, but if there is no confirmation with reality it bothers me a lot. There is no confirmation with reality, it is absolutely to be condemned. Our objective is Como, the rest is to be condemned.”
