Cagliari, Gaetano: “I was sad to say goodbye to Napoli, but I remain the number one fan”

Gianluca Gaetano, midfielder who moved from Napoli to Cagliari in the summer, gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I will remain a Napoli fan. I hope they can win another championship. They can stay at the top, the boys are doing great. They play perfectly for 90 minutes and Conte is the added value. He has put everything back in place. The quality of the team is superior and De Laurentiis did a great job. Of course I had a bad time, but I think I gave everything to Napoli. Sometimes things diverge.”

He preferred to be king in Cagliari than deputy in Kvara. “When I saw him for the first time in Dimaro I said “But who is this?” Very strong, a phenomenon. I’m happy with the choice of Cagliari. In those 4-5 months since January, I felt the affection of the people. Yes he’s fine, I live in Poetto. I can only be grateful.”

In Cagliari he had been called up to the national team by Spalletti. Then the injury. It means that the esteem is there. Even if now Daniel Maldini goes crazy. “The national team shouldn’t be a torment. It was a great satisfaction. I had a good time with Spalletti in Naples. Once he threw me in in the 65th minute against Roma. I felt the trust. He even let me play midfielder.”
