After the recent sanctions imposed onAtletico Madridthe club has decided to take drastic measures towards its fans. The sanctions, which include the closure of the curve for three home matches, total fines of 240,000 euros and the ban on the sale of tickets for the away section in a Champions League away match, have pushed the management to react firmly.
In an official note, Atletico Madrid announced that no tickets will be sold to their season ticket holders for the next five away matches of Diego Simeone’s team. This decision was motivated by the desire to respond rigorously to the “serious sanctions received in recent days following several incidents for which a minority of fans were responsible”. The red and white club made it clear that, although the majority of supporters behave in an exemplary manner, the actions of some have led to serious consequences for the entire community.
In addition to this measure, Atletico Madrid is considering the introduction of a proposal that would ban public access to the entire Metropolitano stadium for two rounds.
