Isaksen scores his first goal for Denmark: “This is the way I want to play”

Gustav Isaksen he scored his first goal for the national team in the Nations League match which ended 2-2 between Switzerland and Denmark. The Lazio winger’s goal came on the assist of Eriksen, a former Inter and Tottenham playmaker now playing for Manchester United: “For him it’s everyday life, but for me it’s fantastic to play alongside someone like him . He can see things that defenders can’t see. He told me several times that I should run when he had the ball, because he could see those passes.”

How easy and how nice is it to play with it?
“It’s a gift for an attacker to have a player like him. I saw that the defense wasn’t paying attention and that Eriksen was looking at me. The defenders must be really angry about that goal, because it was easily avoidable.”

What sensations did you experience?
“It was nice to score my first goal for the national team anyway. I’m happy to be part of it and it’s a dream to be able to help the team move forward. I heard from Schmeichel and he thinks I could have done more. It’s okay, I’m happy to be there anyway managed to help the team. I’m satisfied with the impression I made. I did what I could, I gave a lot of energy to my teammates and this is the way I want to play.”
