Qual. South Americans: Argentina force six, Brazil is back. Sanabria leads Paraguay

Brazil’s show of strength. The Seleçao finds its second consecutive victory in these qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and takes fourth place. Dorival’s national team beat Peru 4-0 thanks to two penalties converted by Raphinha to goals from Andreas Pereira and Luis Henrique. Three successes in the last four matches which brought Verdeoro +5 over eighth-placed Venezuela and +4 behind Bolivia.

La Verde was beaten 6-0 by Argentina, who are increasingly leading the league. The protagonists of the evening were Leo Messi, author of a hat-trick, Lautaro Martinez, Julian Alvarez and Thiago Almada. The vertical collapse of Chile continues, increasingly bottom of the table, beaten 4-0 by Colombia with goals from Davinson Sanchez, Luis Diaz, Jhon Duran and Sinisterra. Fourth useful result for Paraguay who with a brace from Granata Sanabria beat Venezuela 2-1 and reached fourth place. Finally, a goalless draw between Uruguay and Ecuador.
