Missing a point? Spalletti: “In the meantime we have to do it. But we will go to Belgium to win”

At the microphones ‘Vivo Azzurro’ the national coach Luciano Spalletti analyzed Italy-Israel 4-1 as follows: “We confirmed what we had seen in the previous matches, a tough team that was always in balance and never presumptuous even once they were in the lead. It’s a good sign.”

It’s a tough team with an identity. Is this what pleases you most?
“Yes, because the team always knows what to do on the pitch. We are lighter, but not superficial. We are light in knowledge and then it becomes easier because I know what I have to do during the 90 minutes. And then we had quality because they had put themselves in front of the penalty area and to score four goals you need quality.”

Now just one point in November is enough. But beyond that point, what does he ask of his kids?
“In the meantime we have to go there and do it on the pitch, it’s not easy. But we will go to Belgium to win the match, we have to play the match from the start like in Udine without getting lost in thoughts that can lead to distractions. We don’t go to Belgium to defend ourselves , we will want to win the game.”

This is an increasingly younger team
“There are some strong guys who press from underneath and when they show that they are professionals and have quality like Daniel Maldini did on this occasion you have to make room for them.”
