De Vrij harsh on Holland: “We were very mediocre and sloppy in ball possession”

Stefan de Vrij clearly analyzed the 1-0 defeat against Germany byHolland in the Nations League in a match in which he wore the captain’s armband: “It seems clear to me that the defeat can be explained. We were very mediocre, especially in the first half. We were sloppy in ball possession, we simply gave away balls, which could have made them dangerous. We didn’t enter the pitch well. Many things went wrong and we weren’t able to find the open man and free ourselves from the pressure. Luckily we were at 0-0.”

Van Dijk’s absence was felt.
“Of course, Virgil is our captain and also a great defender. It is logical that he is missing.”

After the 1-1 draw with Hungary, another disappointing defeat.
“We have to analyze it and discuss it properly. Last time there were a lot of positive things and in this period there were two very different games. Germany were too big in size.”
