Final result: Empoli-Frosinone 0-0
Empoli’s report cards
Caprile 6.5 – Not particularly busy, he is attentive when called upon as in Mazzitelli’s conclusion at the start of the match. Very good and attentive also to Cheddira’s dangerous conclusions.
Ismajli 6.5 – Careful in the closures, some mistakes in the freeing interventions, at times clumsy. In the second half the intervention was perfect to limit the guests’ restart.
Luperto 6 – Like the whole department, he moves well and doesn’t make diagonal mistakes. He offers himself as a solution with his often interesting crosses into the area.
Bereszynski 6.5 – Be careful on the diagonals to block Cheddira’s cuts. As the right-hander I play a good match, interventions with the right times.
Pezzella 5.5 – The race starts with a big risk. After a few minutes he was about to hand the ball to Cheddira in the dangerous area. Luckily he recovers without fail. From 84′ Cacace SV
Marine 6 – He growls on Mazzitelli’s ankles and becomes dangerous on set pieces. Lacks a bit of precision in the support phase.
Fats 6 – There is no shortage of grit and running. The precision on the close shot is a little less. Shot too central, an opportunity that should have been exploited better. From 54′ Maleh 5.5 – Feisty entrance, perhaps too much, so much so that it cost him a yellow after a few minutes. Then he turns off.
Gyasi 6 – In the first half hour he touched very few balls, except for the goal disallowed by VAR. Then he increases in intensity but much more is expected from a player with his qualities.
Cambiaghi 6 – He presses whenever he can and sometimes comes across as too impetuous. From 71′ Chancellors 5.5 – He should have given more push than his taken teammate but that’s not the case. He is practically never seen.
Fazzini 6.5 – His technical skills can be seen in the area with always precise connections. He lacks a bit of cynicism when finalizing. From 71′ Zurkowski 6 – A few minutes after his entry he received a yellow for a foul on Barrenechea. Then he grows up and proposes some forays.
Niang 5.5 – Not an easy match for him. Too many long balls on which he struggles to intervene and maintain ball possession. From 54′ Caputo 5.5 – It is only seen at the end with a shot that hits the post. Stopped by Duties for offside.
Davide Nicola 6 – His Empoli creates a cage, especially on Soulé who is often doubled and tripled. For the rest, however, he produces little and in the end seems to be satisfied with a point that doesn’t move the rankings much. The battle for survival is still open but more determination is needed, especially up front.
Frosinone report cards
Matching waxes 6 – Race carefully and exit with the right times. Also good on Niang on the only occasion of the first half which was later stopped due to offside.
Okoli 6 – He immediately makes it clear that it will be difficult to pass in his area. Early but often risky interventions. He suffers from the yellow card at the start of the first half which affects the rest of the match.
Romagnoli 7 – Always well positioned, he dominates the crossbars in his area where he catches almost all the aerial balls. From 73′ Bonifazi 6 – input that does not change the result. A couple of careful interventions and few risks.
Lirola 6 – Adapted as a full-back he played an orderly match. He doesn’t make much progress in the first half but grows in the second and is careful in closing down and keeping Cambiaghi from his side.
Valeri 6 – It takes him a while to get going but when he does he shows he can be dangerous with his crosses. The understanding with Zortea was beautiful and could have led to something more.
Barrenechea 6 – Orderly in midfield, good game changes. Well done on the corner to take advantage of his height and shoot towards the far post. It’s a shame that my teammates didn’t believe it.
Mazzitelli 5.5 – In-depth reports and good conclusions. Some mistakes in the openings of play in midfield where he wastes playing time on potential counterattacks.
Zortea 6.5 – Whether it’s Soulé or Valeri, in his area he often makes himself dangerous when he starts in the push phase. Excellent crosses not exploited by his teammates.
Brescianini 6 – He moves well and proposes himself often. His scheme is beautiful with Soulé from a corner which leads him to the conclusion in the area but his shot is weak and is deflected. excellent play with the double step into the area to skip the man. Flaw of wickedness. From 85′ Gelli SV
Soulé 6 – I start a little subdued with some wrong support. Then he takes the stage and shows us the flashes of class with which he has played all season. More concentration and determination is needed in the finalization phase. From 92′ Ibrahimovic SV –
Cheddira 6.5 – He presses, recovers the ball, crosses, kicks on goal. In short, he does everything. He finds in front of him an attentive Caprile who rejects many of his conclusions. From 73′ Cuni 5.5 – He offers himself on a couple of occasions but is put back too easily. More determination is needed.
Eusebio Di Francesco 6 – Relatively positive performance from his boys who had control of the game for a good part of the match. The desire to get a result is there but the cage built by Nicola around his attackers limits their danger.
