Spalletti: “Tonali? He turns the car on and it goes full speed, when he turns it off it still goes full speed”

The Italy coach spoke at a press conference after the 4-1 defeat to Israel in the Nations League Luciano Spalletti after the match in Udine he also focused on some individuals: “Is Dimarco among the top 3 wingers in Europe? We can praise everyone. Everyone showed quality play and breathless chases for their teammate. Dimarco is inside this team reasoning which means a strong collective, then few have that footing.”

Ricci and Fagioli had a different impact on the match.
“Fagioli sometimes drags the ball a little and doesn’t notice the density they put on him. He played a very good game, he lost that ball there which put him in difficulty and made him play with a bit of apprehension. It wasn’t calmer and that’s why I took him away. Ricci showed once again that he knows how to play in that role.”

What did Tonali give that we didn’t have at the European Championship?
“Tonali is immense for what he’s doing. It’s incredible, the match can last as long as he wants for him. When he starts he turns the car on at full speed and when he turns it off he goes full speed anyway. Maybe he still needs to release some anger from how much he has accumulated since last year.”

On calling back Tonali and Fagioli after what happened.
“They felt the trust from everyone, some discussions had also been made to recover them. When kids like this realize this they can make a difference.”
