The press release announcing Gorini’s dismissal
“The Cittadella announces that it has relieved Edoardo Gorini of the role of head coach of the First Team. The Granata club would like to thank Mister Gorini for the seriousness, professionalism and passion demonstrated in the work carried out in recent seasons at the helm of the Cittadella. Today and tomorrow the training sessions will be entrusted to Roberto Musso and the granata staff.”

The very few precedents
Gorini’s dismissal is unique for Cittadella, especially since the club is in the hands of the Gabrielli family. Since 1995, when the club played in Serie C2, there have been just five coaches who have taken turns on the ‘Tombolato’ bench. Five in just under 30 years: an average, therefore, of six years of work for each coach. Before Gorini, there had only been two coaches in 16 years. 10 years for Claudio Foscariniwho led Cittadella from 2005 to 2015, 6 years for Roberto Venturatowho remained in office until Gorini’s arrival in 2021. The last dismissal dates back to the 1995/96 season, when Gesualdo Albanese was replaced by Dino D’Alessi.
