Present at the Sports Festival currently taking place in Trento, the former footballer, coach and manager Leonardo he spoke about the current affairs of Italian football (and not only) to the microphones of the journalists present, including TMW. Many topics touched on, including Thiago Motta on the Juventus bench: “A person who I respect very much, I followed his entire growth, I was his coach at Inter, his director at Paris Saint-Germain, I am very, very pleased that he is demonstrating what he knows and what he is. He has found a way to have a positive impact on a playing and management mentality which makes me very happy.”

Would you return to Milan as a manager? “I’m happy at home, I don’t have much intention of returning to football as I did before. As a coach it’s certainly out of the question, but not even as a sporting director. After finishing with PSG I decided that I would take another path which would certainly it will be in football, because it is my life, but in a different way.”

What does Leonardo want to do when he grows up? “Football is changing, the owners, the management, the players and the coaches. When I say that I will no longer be a sporting director it is because perhaps I am a sporting director with classic methods, perhaps I see myself in this new football in a different way. Time will determine a bit. Football is evolving.”
