Savinho shakes Brazil: “The time has come to win and show what the Seleção is”

Under the spotlight for a start to the season as Pep Guardiola’s new favorite at Manchester City, Savinho was also summoned by Brazil upon the choice of coach Dorival Junior for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in October, against Chile and Peru respectively.

The first words: “I can’t wait to come back, because I work hard at the club every day. Unfortunately I was left out of the last team due to a small injury, not too serious. I recovered quite quickly, Manchester City gave me full physiotherapy support. I’m back, I managed to play some good games when I had the chance and today I’m here with the national team. I can’t wait for the two important games to arrive.”

This is how the 20-year-old made his debut citizens in an interview given to CBF TVhighlighting how crucial the upcoming commitments are: “The time has come, a very positive moment for all the players, to really show what Brazil is, where we deserve to be. I’m sure that all those called up have this goal in mind : to make Brazil win matches again and to make sure that the fans enjoy our matches when they go to the stadium.”

As for the Rojawhich the Selection will face on the night of October 10th: “I have already played against Chile in the past, at youth level, in the Under-15s. We won, it was a very good match. I don’t think much changes from the youth level to the professional one, I am very competitive players who run a lot and fight for the shirt. And we have to show our Brazilian football, which is to be happy on the pitch to get the victory.”

While regarding the gigantic opportunity to wear the Manchester City shirt: “It was my dream since I was a child, because I always watched City play. I heard a lot about them, that the players develop a lot. I hope I can grow a lot with Guardiola while I’m at Manchester City.” Finally, a small passage on brilliant mind of the Spanish coach: “Everyone in my family keeps asking me what Guardiola is like. I reply that he’s a great dad, who helps me a lot on the pitch. When it’s time to charge, he charges, when it’s time to praise, he praises. He’s a great manager, I’m very happy to be with him at Manchester City.”
