More effective arrests and criminal Daspo: this is how the government plans to intervene on violence in stadiums

The government takes action to stem the phenomenon of violence in stadiums. The investigation into the curves of Inter And Milan represents the last landing, but also the Genoa discounts, which brought Marassi behind closed doors, have stimulated further reflections in the executive.

To explain the possible news, which emerged after the last meeting between ministers Abodi and Piantedosi, is La Gazzetta dello Sport. The first move will be linked to the verification, with the collaboration of the Minister for Justice Nordio, of the tools necessary to make the arrests of fans effective. The possibility of introducing criminal profiles linked to the Daspo, currently a mere administrative sanction, is also being considered.

We then move on to the possibility of introducing facial recognition in stadiums, a topic on which the Lega Serie A is already active. And the clubs themselves will be fundamental to achieving the goal: the government’s objective is to obtain the collaboration of society in the removal of fans who are guilty of violence, racism or similar incidents.
