Fiorentina, De Gea’s nice gesture: video message to a young goalkeeper suffering from leukemia

Corriere Fiorentino journalist Tommaso Giani spoke to the microphones of Radio FirenzeViola during the program “Palla al Centro” to talk about Martino, the 16-year-old goalkeeper of Sales Under17 who discovered he was suffering from Leukemia. Giani wrote an article in the Florentine newspaper telling the story of the young goalkeeper, these are his words: “Martino was diagnosed with leukemia a few days ago. I had met him as part of a project with the FIGC youth sector with which I follow 10 teams in Tuscany, including Sales. I am a deacon of the Catholic Church but I am in love with football and therefore I also follow these teams on the pitch. As a first team I decided to follow Sales against Rifredi and Martino also played a good game making excellent saves.

We often joked on the pitch because I was behind his goal taking photos. Then I received the news from the sporting director that Martino will be involved in this important match and I thought of writing this article in the Corriere Fiorentino. I wanted to give strength to Martino, his parents and also his classmates. I then thought that Fiorentina, a team of which Martino is a fan, could also be involved in this operation, and in particular David De Gea“.

The Spanish goalkeeper of Fiorentina, as soon as he heard the news, did not hold back and wanted to send a video in which he sent a message of support and closeness to the young goalkeeper for what will be his most important match.
