Natan in tears over his knee, Betis escapes the worst: it’s just a muscle injury

The fear was there. In the derby between Sevilla and Betis, which ended 1-0 for i rojiblancos, Nathan has ended up in the spotlight: the Brazilian defender owned by Napoli, on loan from Béticosended the match two days ago in tears and gritting his teeth despite having contracted an injury to his left knee after a clash with Chimy Ávila. Unfortunately, however, the coach, Pellegrini, had already exhausted all the substitutions and the player was forced to hold on and play as a striker until the end of the match.

A negative impact on Natan’s form was predictable and in fact, today, the club of verdiblancos released the medical bulletin official reporting the following: “Following the evaluation and examinations carried out by the club’s medical services on our player Natan, a serious knee injury was ruled out. Likewise, a medium-grade muscle injury in the distal third was confirmed of the left semimembranosus muscle. The recovery period is awaiting evolution”.

At least the worst fate was avoided and Betis – reports the newspaper AS – welcomed with some relief the news that there is no break in his left knee, even if his absence for the next few weeks will be significant. On the other hand, Natan’s performances from the beginning of the season to today have been very positive.
