Pisa-Cesena 3-1, the report cards: Lind, Canestrelli and Tourè launch Pisa

Pisa-Cesena 3-1

PISA
Always 6 – Not very busy during the 90 minutes. Well done on Shpendi with a low exit at the opening. Inaccurate on the way out for Prestia’s goal.

Canestrelli 7.5 – Second goal of the season. An important goal in the mix that allows his team to go to half-time at 2-0. Also good in coverage throughout the match. He also had a hand in the third goal, in fact he made the run from the defense before serving Tourè wide on the right. On Prestia’s goal he poorly heads the ball away from the corner.

Caracciolo 6.5 – Precise in closing, his header recovery in the first half also triggered a dangerous counterattack for Lind. Excellent in marking on Shpendi. From 73′ Calabresi sv

Rus 6.5 – On their side, Pisa conceded little throughout the match. He gets along well with Tourè, Piccinini and Arena and also often stands out in the offensive phase, even with set pieces.

Toure 7 – He starts off well and is the first of his team to be dangerous. Even if he doesn’t end up on the scoreboard, he is decisive with the momentary 3-0 goal deflected behind Pisseri by Donnarumma.

Piccinini 6.5 – Only an excellent Pisseri denies him personal joy in the first half. For the rest, race for quality and sacrifice. From 81′ Abildgaard sv

Marine 6 – Good performance in the first half. Orderly and precise in the steps. Booked for a late foul on Ciofi at the start of the second half, he was replaced by Inzaghi. From 60′ Hojholt 6 – Goes in at 3-0 with the game almost over. Contributes to maintaining the result.

Beruatto 6.5 – Tireless on the left-handed lane. He runs throughout the game. Always present both forward and in coverage to help Canestrelli.

Moreo 7 – Quality and sacrifice. He helped Canestrelli and Beruatto well in the defensive phase and very well in the offensive phase. Lind’s opening action was born from his backheel. From 82′ Angori sv

Arena 7 – Lind needs an excellent assist for the initial Tuscan lead, he sends Piccinini through on goal shortly after and does a great duet with his offensive teammates. I also had a hand in the 3-0 by serving Canestrelli who had detached himself from the defensive line.

Lind 7 – Out Bonfanti Inzaghi relies on him. In his first start as a starter he doesn’t forgive and takes Pisa forward. Not only on the second goal Canestrelli returns his shot saved by Pisseri. From the 60th minute N. Bonfanti 6 – He fights against the Mignani defenders without however managing to become dangerous. The yellow card at the end of the match was avoidable.

Filippo Inzaghi 7 – His Pisa flies to the top of the table. After a period of difficulty with the double defeat against Cesena in the Italian Cup and Juve Stabia in the championship, today his team gave a demonstration of strength. Despite the many absences up front, he finds important answers even from those who had played less up until now.

CESENA
Pisseri 6.5 – Excellent first half. Very good on Piccinini and also good on Lind for the second goal. Lind’s lead was fooled by a deflection from Mangraviti and in the second half he was fooled by Donnarumma’s touch who put Tourè’s cross into the goal.

Ciofi 6 – The best of his team in defence, saves at the start on Tourè and at the end of the first half on Lind. In the second half he was less involved in closing down and tried to show off his offensive projection at the start of the second half.

Prestia 6.5 – As captain he tries to play the charge by scoring the 3-1 goal. However, his goal fails to relaunch Cesena towards a comeback.

Mangravites 5.5– Unlucky on the deflection that puts Pisseri out of play on the occasion of Lind’s goal. Imprecise in some situations like his teammates. He took the header from Bastoni’s corner, which he pounced on before Semper Prestia.

Ceesay 5 – Lind is lost when the Nerazzurri take the lead. In offensive projection he is not very incisive throughout the match. From 78′ Hraiech sv

He dropped 5.5 – In difficulty right from the start of the match like his teammate in the middle of the field. Lots of inaccuracies in the passages. From 58′ Berti 6 – the news of his return is perhaps the best of the afternoon for Mignani. He comes in with personality and tries on some occasions to create dangerous situations.

Sticks 5.5 – Inaccurate on many occasions when maneuvering. Many technical errors in his match, starting from the rebound on Shpendi’s opening shot which ended up high. His was the corner kick from which Prestia’s goal was born.

Celia 5 – On their side, Pisa pushes and often becomes dangerous. In the first half he almost never manages to block the incursions of Tourè, Piccinini and Rus. He gets booked for a foul on Arena. From 46′ Donnarumma 5 – In difficulty in the left-handed lane like Celia in the first half. Unlucky for the hosts’ third goal. Tourè’s cross is deflected by his touch with his toe.

Kargbo 5 – Inaccurate. He tries to create dangerous situations but never manages to make an impact. At the beginning of the second half he gets a good shot in the area but he is unable to kick. From 59′ Tavsan sv

Antonucci 6 – The best of his forwards. Fight and try to put in quality. His diagonal shot was excellent and ended up just wide at the end of the first half.

Shpendi 5.5 – He starts off well attacking the depth on more than one occasion then fades away. At the start of the match he had the opportunity to give his team the lead but he wasted it. At the end of the first half he arrived late at the far post to close a cross shot from Antonucci. From 67′ Van Hooijdonk sv

Michele Mignani 5.5 – Fresh from two consecutive championship and cup successes and 4 useful results in a row, today Cesena, apart from Prestia’s goal, became dangerous only with Shpendi at the start of the match. His team is slow and imprecise in their maneuvers and is unable to attack the opponent like Pisa does. In the final, after Prestia’s goal, his boys didn’t have the strength to push to try and call the result into question.
