First half with no goals therefore, even if there was no shortage of opportunities, with the biggest one coming to the home team: Karlstrom did well to keep the ball in play on the left and put it in the middle, Kabasele’s header and the ball hit the crossbar. On the rebound Zemura, with the goal completely unguarded, then incredibly sent it wide from a few steps. Subsequently another woodwork came for the Bianconeri with Zarraga: the midfielder controlled and kicked from the edge of the area, with the ball hitting the post with Falcone beaten after a deflection from Baschirotto.
Udinese was therefore better in the first half, with Lecce limiting themselves to containing. Rebic is the most inspired in Luca Gotti’s team who could make some offensive changes in the second half to try to be more dangerous with his team around Okoye.
