Fiorentina, Castrovilli’s return to goals after a year: “My strength was my little son”

Gaetano Castrovillithe Fiorentina midfielder who returned to scoring after almost a year in the match the Viola lost 2-1 on the Hellas Verona pitch, spoke to the club’s official channels after the match: “We are sorry for the result, but we must immediately put this match aside because a final awaits us on Wednesday.”

What was missing?
“In the first half we had to be more concrete up front, the more we score the more difficult it is for the opponents to catch you. We have to improve in this aspect that we have been carrying with us all year.”

However, the emotion of returning to scoring was there.
“There were two years in which I was very unlucky but I came back thanks to my family, the club and my teammates. I’m happy for the goal and the dedication goes entirely to my little boy. In recent months it has been my strength and my rebirth.”

Head to Club Brugge on Wednesday. What to bring with you from Verona?
“It may be a semi-final but it’s like a final. We will have to repeat the same match as the first leg but be more concrete because we had many opportunities in the first leg too, but the result could have been greater.”
