Elfsborg-Roma 1-0, the report cards: Juric with the wrong eleven. Saud, doubts increase

Final result: Elsfborg-Roma 1-0

Elfsborg report cards (edited by Filippo D’Angelo)

Pettersson6 – Demonstrates reliability and safety between the posts of the Swedish goal, where he shows his quality with a series of important interventions. In the second half he gets excited and allows his team to keep a clean sheet.

Ibrahim 6 – On the centre-right he is very attentive and precise, often managing to stop an Angelino who is not in his best evening.

Henriksson 6.5 – By far one of the best in the field. First Shomurodov belts with perfect marking, then tries to do the same with Dovbyk, completing an excellent job.

Yegbe 6 – Despite some blunders at the end he gets home a pass, given that he offers a solid performance and is especially attentive in aerial duels.

Hedlund 6 – In the lane he is a guarantee, given that he applies himself well in the defensive phase and when he can he also breaks away to attack.

Better Zeneli 6 – Less flashy than his colleague but no less precious. He certainly does better than his brother and brings home a more than satisfactory grade.

Ouma 6.5 – In midfield he is a certainty, especially in defensive duels where he stands out for his intensity and aggressiveness. A resource that was really useful for the Swedes this evening.

Hult 6 – The other winger also performed well against the Giallorossi, offering an important contribution until the final whistle.

Arber Zeneli 5.5 – In the offensive phase you can see little and it is imprecise. In the second half his nervousness increases and he also receives a yellow card. From the 62nd minute Abdullai 6 – A half hour of sacrifice and a lot of work for the midfielder, who commanded good respect on the pitch.

Qasem 5.5 – In the offensive phase, Elfsborg did very little, partly due to a dull performance on their part which was out of touch with the game. He could have done more.

Baidoo 7 – At the end of the first half Svilar and all of Roma freeze with a perfect eleven-metre shot, which is worth a historic victory for Elfsborg. From 86′ Frick sv.

Oscar Hiljemark 7 – European football now also knows Elfsborg better, a team that Roma will struggle to forget. And this is certainly all thanks to him.

Roma’s report cards (edited by Raimondo De Magistris)

Svilar 6 – When called into action he responds present, conceding goals only from eleven metres.

Celik 5.5 – The role of arm in the three-man defense does not seem to be the most congenial to his characteristics.

Ndicka 5.5 – In an evening that was easy on paper, he ran into difficulty in the rare circumstances in which Elfsborg appeared in the Giallorossi area.

Hermoso 5.5 – He doesn’t yet seem fully immersed in the Giallorossi reality. He lacks confidence with this team, as well as good physical condition.

Abdulhamid 5 – The worst of the first half, it fails even trivial checks. A little better in the second half, but after his first start, doubts remain about his purchase. From the 65th El Shaarawy 6 – Roma on the right lane changes pace with his entry.

Peas 5.5 – Too often in the first half he complies with the rhythms of his teammates. Better when the starters come on after the hour mark: he comes close to scoring twice.

Paredes 5 – He should dictate the pace of the game but he is too slow. His suggestions are either banal or predictable.

Angelino 4.5 – Gray game, full of errors. He would have the space to sink the shot, but he never exploits them.

Soulé 4.5 – For now, a distant relative of the player admired last season with the Frosinone shirt. He lacks enamel, the right attitude. And he gets sad. From the 65th Dybala 6 – Another burden on the opposing midfield.

Baldanzi 4.5 – He gives the impression of being able to light up at any moment and often calls the ball for the decisive play. But all things considered, the only thing that was decisive was his naive touch with his arm which gave rise to the penalty converted by Baidoo. From the 72nd Pellegrini 6.5 – Much more concrete than Baldanzi in the opposing midfield: unlucky in the 83rd minute when he hit the crossbar.

Shomurodov 4.5 – Insipid performance at the center of the attack. A good opportunity in the first half but misses the target. Then he moves between the Elfsborg centre-backs without too much conviction: it is never a decisive factor. From the 65th Dovbyk 6 – Yes, he is a reference at the center of the attack.

Ivan Juric 4 – He fields a team without art or part and returns to Rome with a disappointing European defeat, with the first knockout of his management. He tries to play the game no matter what, but all things considered, the Giallorossi were 70 minutes of sterile ball possession. Better with the starters, but by then it was too late.
