Roma, first defeat with Juric: “But impressive progress in terms of play”

Another misstep. A worse result than the previous one. Roma, who are among the big favorites to win the Europa League final after two days of the ‘championship phase’, have only one point in the standings. After the home draw against Athletic Club, Ivan Juric’s team lost 1-0 at the Boras Arena against the not irresistible Elfsborg. The match was decided by a penalty converted in the 44th minute by Baidoo, a penalty awarded after a naive touch with the arm of Tommaso Baldanzi.

The Giallorossi team tried to play the game, but for large stretches of the match they produced decidedly sterile ball possession. “But it’s not all to be thrown away,” he said Ivan Juric in the post-match -, for me there are many positive things. There’s certainly room for improvement in the counterattacks, we didn’t manage to score a goal and we accept that, but I didn’t see a negative performance or any confusion.”

Then in another passage the Croatian manager added: I am satisfied with many things, others need improvement. Now we need to focus on the matches, on Monza, for me today in terms of play we made impressive steps forward. We missed the details, but thinking about what’s missing from the squad is counterproductive.”
