Venice, Crnigoj: “Few would have thought that we could play against Roma”

Live TMW

Venezia licks its wounds after a defeat at the Olimpico against Roma which leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Pohjanpalo and his teammates caused great fear for the Giallorossi, who however made a comeback towards the end and took home the full spoils, after having suffered against Di Francesco’s men for a long time.
Three days after the knockout in the capital, the orange-green midfielder Domen Crnigoj will speak at the press conference. Follow here TuttoMercatoWeb the direct verbatim of his words.

The press conference begins at 2.43pm

How do you evaluate the match against Roma?
“It was an away match where few thought we could get points and a good performance, we started well with that goal, we knew we could have a great match. It’s a shame for the serious mistakes made in the last 15 minutes. We have to take the good things, improve them as well as improve the negative aspects even more without giving up anything.

The mood?
“Everyone works hard, we are putting the coach in difficulty as he has difficulty choosing the 11. It’s a derby against Verona, we care about it, it won’t be easy and they too are coming off a couple of games below expectations. It will be tough.”

The value of the rose?
“We are working hard, even if the results are not giving us what we deserved.”

What was broken between you and Venezia when you left?
“I have always felt at home here, never had any problems. There was a period in which we got off to a bad start, I had had some offers from Serie A, but I wouldn’t have thought of leaving because I always felt at ease. We found ourselves in that period was a bit dark and perhaps the club also wanted to bring in new additions with talented people. They handled it well by changing something and if I came back it’s because I never had any problems.”

What made you want to come back?
“When I had my experience at Salernitana which was then complicated by an injury I thought about returning, I can’t say why I didn’t stay. It certainly didn’t depend only on me. I also had to find a team to recover from the injury and I I found a place that gave me time to recover peacefully. Unfortunately it didn’t go as I hoped there too, I hurt myself twice this summer and the coach was happy and I stayed.”

Clutches with Vanoli?
“For my part, absolutely not, never.”

Did you want to come back?
“Of course. Then of course if a great club calls you, you’ll think about it. It’s the fourth year here, my family has always felt comfortable here. It’s very good here and the club has grown a lot. I’ve always felt comfortable with the boys and with society”

With Di Francesco?
“We work well, we work a lot with the ball. A lot of ball possession, a lot of attacking. I don’t know if we are already at the level he would like. However, we are still having a good championship.”
