On the sidelines of the Serie C elective assembly, the vice president of Lega Pro also made some statements, Gianfranco Zola. What do you think of the investigation into the relationships between players, clubs and fans that is taking place these days?
“It’s sorry. It’s normal that there are contacts between players and fans, but we hope that these remain only on a sporting level. It’s a delicate topic on which all parties must work, knowing everyone’s role well.
Given your experience, how much could we learn from the English model?
“I had the fortune and privilege of playing in England for many years and one of the best memories is linked to the relationship established with the fans. We have a lot to learn from English football.”
How can the second team project be evaluated after the arrival of the third team, that of Milan Futuro?
“So far the two previous teams have been able to be a positive example. They are benefiting from it. I hope the same goes for Milan too. I am sure that it is a path that helps the clubs a lot. Juventus and what they have done proves.”
However, someone highlights how there are too many foreign talents in these teams
“We are working on motivating clubs to enhance their young players. We greatly reward the clubs that do so and we will continue to do so. It will be a great benefit.”
What is Gianfranco Zola’s recipe for giving space to young people even beyond Serie C?
“I don’t want to invade other roles. I’m happy here, but we certainly need more attention and resources on the youth sectors, it’s an important factor. The resources of the past are no longer there, resources that had their roots in the football of the oratories: now we have to equip ourselves to make up for this deficiency. I hope that our project on young people will also be an example for others. Historically we have always been good with young people, so much so that many came from abroad to understand what we did. After the youth teams, however, we need to continue to work on them to insert him into the professional scene.
