INTER-RED STAR 4-0
(11′ Calhanoglu, 59′ Arnautovic, 72′ Lautaro, 81′ Taremi)

Inter’s report cards – Edited by Ivan Cardia

Summer 6.5 – A great save at the end of the first half and some thrills, well managed as usual, with the ball at his feet.

Pavard 6.5 – Very involved in his teammates’ maneuvers, at the beginning of the second half he offered Carlos Augusto a chocolate which the former Monza player did not discard.

De Vrij 6.5 – Captain’s armband and we go to the door with Ndiaye: he may not be Haaland, but he’s not small either. It contains it without, overall, too many worries. (From 64′ Acerbi 6 – He enters and the race goes downhill, with little effort for Duarte).

Sticks 6 – He takes a few too many risks, the axis with Carlos Augusto needs to be oiled. (From 74′ Bisseck 6 – A quarter of an hour without getting into the heart of the game).

Dumfries 6 – He also scores, but clearly offside. Among the few to convince in the first half, during the second half he retreats from the highlights.

Zielinski 6 – Preferred to Frattesi to open the Serbian spaces with the maneuver: mission half successful, considering that Inter, up to 2-0, struggled a lot from this point of view. There is no question of quality, it must fully fit into the well-established Nerazzurri mechanisms.

Calhanoglu 7 – Confirms the recent trend: a few too many errors. Seven missed passes out of fifty-five are not a lot in absolute terms, but for him it is. The free-kick was a gem, albeit deflected: it hadn’t happened to Inter in the Champions League since Sneijder’s time. (From 71′ Asllani 6 – Orderly, not much to talk about).

Mkhitaryan 6.5 – Only the yellow card leads Inzaghi to give it up: judging by his playing time, seeing him as a starter with Toro cannot be ruled out. Without claiming it’s a miracle, he plays the best game of his so far dull season. He has two scoring opportunities and doesn’t finish them, on the other hand he wins the free kick to make it 1-0. The verticalization for Pavard, before going out, needs to be seen and reviewed. (From 64′ Frattesi 6 – Contributes to raising Inter’s turnover).

Carlos Augusto 6 – Not very present in the first half, on the hour mark they devour the third goal, which Inter will then score anyway. It closes in crescendo with a good ending.

Taremi 7.5 – The best on the pitch, by distance. The first Nerazzurri goal and much more. Already convincing in the first half, he takes center stage in the second half: it is he who inspires both the second and third goals, as well as sending Lautaro to win the poker penalty. Which the Iranian finishes.

Arnautovic 6.5 – San Siro is divided between the buzz about his mistakes and the ever-present affection towards him. A lot of obscure work, with the goal he redeems some inaccuracies in choices and the desire to always try one play too many. (From 64′ Lautaro 7 – He comes in and scores, then also wins the penalty. From captain the gesture of leaving him in Taremi: not a new thing).

Simone Inzaghi 7 – Seven changes compared to Udine: extreme turnover, but if not against these opponents… The choices, moreover, prove him right, even if from a distance. Unconvincing first half, the team expresses itself significantly better during the second half.

Red Star report cards – Edited by Marco Pieracci

Glazer 6 – Recovered from the injury in record time, it was difficult to get to Calhanoglu’s free kick. He says no to Arnautovic and Carlos Augusto.

Drkusic 4.5 – Of the three central defenders he is the roughest, he follows Arnautovic closely and holds up to a certain point. Then his vein closes and he overwhelms Lautaro. From 89′ Rodic sv

Spajic 4 – The management of the ball is a real disaster: Taremi understands the obvious difficulties, stealing it for the first time. Repeat offender, gives away the 3-0.

Djiga 6 – Quick in recoveries, some defensive readings made well and also a certain propensity to overlap. It does less damage than its teammates.

Seoul 6 – Tactically very valuable, he kept Carlos Augusto down for at least an hour, forcing him onto the defensive. He only grants him one descent.

Maksimovic 6 – Personality and a pretty good left foot, he shows interesting things. He plays with the boldness typical of someone who is not yet 18 years old. From 70′ Radonjic 5.5 – Lazy entry.

Krunic 4.5 – Reminiscences of the derby, he plays the point guard as in his latest Rossoneri version. The deviation into the barrier is irrelevant, he gets it all wrong on the doubling. From 89′ Dalcio Gomes sv

Elsnik 5.5 – Not exactly reactive when Mkhitaryan takes his time by cleverly procuring the free kick for the lead, the climb back up is tiring.

Olayinka 6 – He plays across the full range, also sacrificing himself in coverage, when he goes forward it is never banal: a good ball for Silas.

Silas 5.5 – Long levers, discreet protection when receiving with his back turned to the goal and leg for counterattacks. He peeks out from Sommer’s side. From 71′ Bruno Duarte 5.5 – A couple of accelerations and stops.

Ndiaye 5.5 – Poorly served in depth, he comes forward to look for playable balls. He commands respect in the duel with De Vrij, but fails to sting. From 71′ Ilic 5.5 – He immediately loses three balls, a jolt at the end.

Vladan Milojević 5 – It mirrors Inter, but what makes the difference is the different quality of the performers. You can’t make mistakes like that in the Champions League.
