“Ferraris” Stadium, the Mayor of Genoa: “Still no guarantees from Genoa and Sampdoria”

The issue linked to the “Luigi Ferraris” stadium is back in the news. In recent days, Genoa and Sampdoria have issued a joint statement in which they announced the establishment of a new co which will have to dedicate itself to the restructuring of the Genoese facility as well as its future management. An important step for the city of Lanterna which aims, like other cities, to host some matches of the European Championship 2032 which Italy will share with Turkey.

Spoke yesterday morning on the Ligurian broadcaster Telenorththe Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci took stock of the situation related to the future works at the Marassi stadium and also on the two clubs in the city, finally also opening up to a hypothetical third party:

“It’s right to give the Genoese a ‘new’ stadium, also for the European Championships in 2032 – began the mayor -. I’m waiting for the project for the works from companies or private individuals by October, we’ll take the first one that arrives. I agree with Minister Abodi. Genoa and Sampdoria have not yet given me any certainty, but there are many others interested in the investment. It would be nice to have the support of a third party, perhaps – concluded Bucci – we can find someone to do the renovation work and who manages and operates the plant”.
