Griezmann leaves the national team, Pavard: “A leader, he always set an example on the pitch”

The farewell of Antoine Griezmann at the French national team he surprised everyone, starting with his teammates. Among these there is also Benjamin Pavard: the Inter defender ran with Grizou a long stretch of road, from 2017 to 2024, and wanted to pay homage to the Atletico Madrid player: “I have a lot of respect for what he did for France”, he told The Team.

“I think we can safely say that he is one of the greatest players in the history of our national team. We have lost Hugo Lloris, Olivier Giroud, Raphaël Varane in recent months, now Antoine… they are legends, it is hard to see these players go. Now we have to turn the page and write a new one. Griezmann was a complete leader: he could speak when necessary, when the team needed it.

And then, above all, there was the example he set on the pitch. A player who always worked hard, who always put the team above everything else and who made us want to do something more on the pitch even when we were tired.”
