Lazio, Baroni: “The team follows me and works hard, it deserves only compliments”

Marco Baroni, Lazio coach, at the microphones of Dazn he spoke like this about the 3-2 victory against Torino: “I congratulate the boys, because we traveled during the week and there was a lot of energy spent. The team knows that it is growing, from a performance point of view we are missing some points, but at the same time we are happy because we produce, we create scoring opportunities and we get many men to shoot. For example, Guendouzi’s goal makes me happy. The kids follow our proposals, now let’s get on with work, work and work.”

How important is it for a coach to have players who are also predisposed to sacrifice like his?
“The team works hard, even during the week. What made me think is availability at work. I tell my parents that you play as you train. If they manage to feed, we can play with more offensive players. It’s disappointing to have conceded two goals in particular situations, but little by little we will also improve this aspect in the defensive phase.”

Noslin was coming off a naive sending-off in the Europa League. Today he scored 30 seconds after his entry.
“He played some good games. He has mental cleanliness, he must maintain joy. When you move up in level the pressure increases, but he has to remain calm. He has many qualities, several strong companions. He must know how to train and at the same time the young players must be lightened up, I am also thinking of Tchaouna. We will support them and with me they know they can go on the pitch and make mistakes.”

How much of your work is there on Dia and Castellanos? And how much credit do they have on their movements?
“I’m not a self-celebrator. I work, I believe that a technician must have the quality of seeing problems and finding solutions, as well as seeing the qualities of individuals. They can work together because they have uncommon mobility and I like it because they put it at the service of the team and take away references from the opponent. They will score goals, they must also lend an important hand when not in possession and they are doing it, they will do it better and better.”
