Missed penalty Rome and last victory Venice. But we’re talking about more than 70 years ago…

The debut on the bench of Rome by Ivan Juric coincided with the achievement of the Giallorossi team’s first championship victory. Also the Venice during the last day he achieved his first success of the season, reaching four points in the standings.

To find Venezia’s second and last success in Rome (out of 13 championship matches between A and B) you have to go back a long way. More precisely to March 16, 1947 (over 77 years ago); a 2-1 that arrived thanks to goals from Renosto and Otti. Andreoli scored a red flag goal from a penalty (Andreoli himself missed the penalty for a possible 2-2 in the final stages of that match).

DOUBLE FIVE YELLOW-RED – The Roma-Venice with the most goals is 5-2 on the fourth day of the 1940/41 Serie A championship, while the one with the greatest difference is 5-0 for the Capitoline team on the 20th day of the 1999/2000 season.

Venezia has already had three penalties called against them in these first five matchdays. It’s a record level that Udinese is also maintaining. There is a difference however: the ones against Venezia were all converted, while two out of three became goals against the Friulians.
